This year's Eurovision Song Contest will have an official companion app.
Nicholas Barr's insight:
The app has been developed with co-ordination by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) by public service broadcasters in Sweden’s (SVT), Germany (NDR) and the Netherlands (TROS). It is available to iOS and Android users in English, Swedish, German and Dutch. This is probably one of the first examples of a major, multi-lingual second-screen app for concurrent international use making it a very interesting case-study. The Eurovision Song Contest attracts 125 million viewers from over 40 countries.
