Neil Gaiman on Why We Read and What Books Do for the Human Experience

Neil Gaiman on Why We Read and What Books Do for the Human Experience | Social Studies Education | Scoop.it
"Truth is not in what happens but in what it tells us about who we are."
Kristen McDaniel's insight:
Very powerful and resonating.

"Well-meaning adults can easily destroy a child’s love of reading: stop them reading what they enjoy, or give them worthy-but-dull books that you like, the twenty- first-century equivalents of Victorian “improving” literature.
