Olivia G. Contillo's insight:

I think this is the most amazing set of drawings I have ever seen. On some of them you can tell that they are drawings, but on others it's nearly impossible. This man is such an amazing artist and deserves some time of recognization for his work. I actually think this guy has too much free time on his hands. But none the less this is some amazing artwork.

Anonymous announces new campaign over alleged rape and murder of 2-year-old | Social Studies | Scoop.it

The online activist hacker collective Anonymous announced Thursday that it is taking up a new campaign in hopes of bringing to justice the people who allegedly raped and murdered a 2-year-old from the Phoenix, AZ area.

Olivia G. Contillo's insight:

I have always wondered who this group is. I have heard so much about them and some people give me more information then others. I thing the rape and murder of a two year old is such a horrible thing. I can't tell if the protest with it or against it. I do hope that they aren't like the people in the Purge. I hope to learn more about this group and figure what exactly this group does. This scoop it caught my eye from the picture and the title.

'Wall of water' hits Boulder, Colorado as floods continue for 4th day

'Wall of water' hits Boulder, Colorado as floods continue for 4th day | Social Studies | Scoop.it

The devastating flooding that pummeled Colorado the past week, also inundated a main center of the state's drilling industry, temporarily bringing production of natural gas to a halt.

The mix of floodwaters and drilling operations has also spurred environmental and health concerns that industry and government officials say they are closely monitoring, and that activists have seized on as another demonstration of the dangers posed by hydraulic-fracturing.

Pictures and videos that cropped up on anti-fracking sites and in local news outlets in recent days show inundated oil pads, flooded wells, and, in some cases, overturned tanks and ruptured lines. Many were reportedly captured in Weld County, an area northeast of Denver and Boulder that was hit hard by the flooding.

With nearly 18,000 active wells, it's also a main drilling center in Colorado, a state that increasingly relies on hydraulic-fracturing for its energy production.

'Licence to trash nature': Campaigners warn of new scheme that would allow house-building in biodiverse areas

'Licence to trash nature': Campaigners warn of new scheme that would allow house-building in biodiverse areas | Social Studies | Scoop.it
The Government has been accused of trying to introduce a policy feared by some to be a back-door "licence to trash nature" for housing developers.

Via Maria Nunzia @Varvera
Olivia G. Contillo's insight:

This is a horrible idea. I understand that as a growing community we need more homes for more people but destroying the homes of some animals that have been here longer then we have is not the answer. Instead of creating more houses, why dont we just build smaller house and start regulating space instead of having to build large houses with large amounts of space. The stupid companys of Housing Developers need to stop being selfish and start thinking about the world we live on. Is it really that hard to stop polluting. We always talk about stop doing it but does it actually ever happen? Does anyone even try their hardest? Alright I am stopping now, or elses this will be a 300 word essay on how I want to punch everyone in the face.

And in the near future it will make it easier when the update for the ipad comes out.
