This video case study presented by Ashley Callahan, from the Coca-Cola Company, demonstrates how social media can be used to enforce your brand through the website. Coke created a a magazine type format and users/customers are pleased and Coke is doing better than ever world-wide. Since my company is branded in localization, documentation, and elearning I can certainly take this guidance and move forward with my peers and other managers.

The facts represented in this article that an educational theory is gaining momentum which will open the door to using social media in the classroom as the norm. Dr. Richard Light states that in his studies 70% of all organizations engage in structured collaboration using online social media allows for more sharing and interaction of all learners. This further my forward movement to implement using social media.

The research in this article explains that geography plays a big role in using soccial media in schools and the workplace. Facebook is used the most at 1.16 billion and Youtube is second at 1 billion. Thess statistics re-enforce my drive to use social  media in my learning processes I develop.

It was not easy to get this approved via the school district but it was a success. This proves to me never give up and do your homework before presenting to the stakeholders.

This case study by Stephanie Renee Hunter-Brown delves into her study of how social media networks positively impact middle and high school English students. Facebook is preferred by the students, which I find predictable, but I think will change when others come out. I will first start with Facebook in my implementation as it appears to be widely accepted by teenagers and adults alike.

The lines between educational and social networking are becoming blurred and educators are noticing. Schools are working to prepare clear guidelines to avoid legal issues.  Communication between parents, teachers, administrators, and students need to be clear and open to accomplish such a large goal.  I will for sure do my homework and keep communication open and fluid.

It is found that social media does improve student engagement for virtual learners.
