5 Insights on Facebook vs Pinterest in Driving Sales - Infographic

5 Insights on Facebook vs Pinterest in Driving Sales - Infographic | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

Pinterest has been grabbing the headlines recently as its network approaches 20 million users per month.

In March compete.com reported that Pinterest had received 18 million unique visitors with AppData reporting that the visual social network had received a record 4.4 million daily active users on March 18.

There are reports that Pinterest’s growth is slowing but just like Twitter and Facebook reports of its demise maybe slightly premature.

The Power of “Low Friction” Photo Sharing

Pinterest’s value to marketers is that it provides an easy to use platform for “pinning” images, photos and videos to your Pinterest account while also posting and sharing to your networks to Facebook and Twitter in the same process.

Pinterest reduces the effort and friction to share images on the social web which crowd sources your marketing and the spreading of your brand images.

Make Money Locally—and Globally—Through Your Blog

Make Money Locally—and Globally—Through Your Blog | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

Our blog is less than a year old.

We started Firepole Marketing less than a year ago, and we’ve done pretty well with it over that time. A lot of people know who we are, and what we do.

I’ve even been dubbed the Freddy Krueger of Blogging.

And while we’re not at the scale of a major site like Copyblogger, we still do pretty well, to the point that we make a decent amount of money online, and occasionally even help others to do the same.

We aren’t the only ones to have done that, and I remember that a year ago, when I saw others make the same sort of claim, I always wanted more information. I wanted to know how much money they were really making, and where that money was coming from...

Sales Enablement Goes Social [Infographic]

Sales Enablement Goes Social [Infographic] | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

It has been amazing to watch business functions evolve as the ‘social’ wave continues to make a splash (check out the The Path to Social Englightenment Infographic). One of the hot trends we’re hearing right now from our customers is a measurable uptick in efficiency and productivity as they apply social business software to their sales force.

Why?

The answer is actually quite simple. Sales is a largely a social function. You don’t sell to machines, you sell to people. You also don’t sell alone – you need a team behind you to win. A fully productive sales team needs access to the right information, the right expertise and the right tools – in real time – to give them the edge to win. A social sales strategy needs to be pervasive, meaning it is not limited to a single sales use case. The ability to connect across boundaries – partners, customers and employees – is absolutely critical to take full advantage of the new way to business and can have a big impact on both direct and indirect sales channels.

Video Drives Conversion, Sales and Traffic While Reducing Returns – So What Are You Waiting For?

Video Drives Conversion, Sales and Traffic While Reducing Returns – So What Are You Waiting For? | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
Deploying ecommerce video online is no longer only the domain of top retailers.

In fact, shrinking costs and rising benefits of video has spurred many smaller businesses into action, with 73 percent of online retailers using video on product pages this year, an impressive jump from 55 percent in 2010, according to eMarketer.

Measuring conversion rates.
Ice.com found that consumers who viewed videos on their site converted at a 400 percent increase over those who did not. Ice.com also credits video with decreasing returns by 25 percent, according to an internal study...
