Twenty Feet: The social media tool you've all been waiting for - Social Media | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
If you are like me and use social media on a regular basis you are probably obsessed with stats from your various different networks, sites, blogs and sharing tools. Finding out all those stats is usually quite a manual process of logging in and out of several accounts and most people I know check their Google Analytics account about 10 times a day. I’ve always craved a dashboard that would pull in all that information in to one central hub where I could get a quick overview of all the my activity online and Twenty Feet has just launched that tool...

When you have a Facebook page in place you know that there will be traffic and that traffic will leave comments. Some will be positive commenting and some may be negative. Part of your page’s traffic might be communication among your ‘friends’ and not directly with you. You must monitor and control all of it so your responses are timely and appropriate. Disposable Landing Pages Are Key to Conversion Optimization | Business 2 Community

Disposable Landing Pages Are Key to Conversion Optimization | Business 2 Community | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
We have all the same desire... that the landing page create leads and business.

Online testing requires that marketers are able to create a lot of pages quickly, and have no anxiety over tossing out pages if they’re not converting well.

In order to reduce this anxiety, pages can’t be resource intensive. Think about it—if your team spends a ton of time on one single page (layout, copy, images, coding, proofing, tweaking, etc), you won’t be too happy when it doesn’t win a test and you have to dump it. Better to think of pages as disposable.

Branding is More Relevant than Ever

That shirt you’re wearing–one look with the distinctive horse on the side tells everyone whose got you branded. That coffee cup you’re holding–ah, you’re a Starbucks woman! Your baseball cap with the prominent swoosh, the handbag covered with the letter C…

You’re branded, branded, branded, branded.

It’s time for you–and me–to take a lesson from the big brands, a lesson for anyone who’s interested in creating a brand, rather than just a message, that engages others.

Stacey Acevero, the social media community manager at Vocus and PRWeb, shares four simple rules to not only make your brand talk but engage with its audience:

Understand your audience
Give, give, give
Keep content community minded
Tie into causes people care about
But why is branding important?

Enterprises Struggle To Measure Social Media ROI

Enterprises Struggle To Measure Social Media ROI | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
Our recent study of the top companies across several categories revealed that on average just over 80% are using some form of social media.

Yet another study shows that most have not figured out how to calculate a return on that investment. According to a Hypatia Research report, “Benchmarking Social Community Platform Investments & ROI,” only 40% of companies measure social media performance on a quarterly or annual basis, while almost 13% or the organizations surveyed do not measure ROI from social media at all, and another 18% said they do so only on an ad hoc basis. (Hypatia didn’t specify what response the other 29% gave.)

7 Ways To Master the Fear of Social Media

7 Ways To Master the Fear of Social Media | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
Back in the 1990s, Intel CEO Andy Grove had a famous slogan: “Only the paranoid survive.” He meant that companies (and people) had to constantly be ready to change, quickly, and adapt-or get crushed.

I had a lot of respect for Grove (I worked for Intel in the 1990s), but that thinking doesn’t work when it comes to social media. I’ve never met a successful paranoid blogger (someone who was scared to blog, but did anyway).

Yet, truth is many people are outright scared to blog or participate in social media activities. You can’t blame them. Their boss might frown on it. They may not be good writers. They may have little time...

Social Media: Quantity vs. Quality « Robert Medak

You can join numerous social media sites beside Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Twitter. There are sites on Ning.com, Spruz, Scribd, Digg, and StumbleUpon to name just a few.

The question is, “Is quantity better than quality?”

The point should be to follow, also followed by individuals or businesses relevant to your business, and keep things professional. If you want something personal, get a second account and keep it for things about family and friends.

What Not to Post on Social Media Sites...

Better Sharing Equals More Followers in Social Media

Better Sharing Equals More Followers in Social Media | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
The idea behind using social media is to explode your numbers. Your readers are potential customers or clients, so the more people that take a look at your page or read your posts, the more likely you are to gain notability.

Facebook probably has the easiest format for sharing blogs, pictures, and videos. Twitter has the same capability but Twitter readers tend to be more impatient and want to read your brief comment without necessarily leaving Twitter to go to your blog or watch a video...

Content marketing is an essential part of SEO. Content marketing can help a brand or business establish themselves as an authority in their field, build a strong online reputation, increase brand recognition, connect with consumers, increase online presence and more. If your company isn’t producing content in some form—blogs, articles, videos, etc—then you’re behind the times and could be losing out to competitors who are. The key to content marketing is to produce quality, relevant and engaging content. The Google Panda update showed us that content that is anything but isn’t going to help you. Facebook is about to hit another huge milestone as it nears 700 million users on the site. This has come in an incredibly short time since the news surrounding its 500 millionth user, which occurred last July 2010.
