How To Implement Personalization And Behavioral Targeting On Your Blog

How To Implement Personalization And Behavioral Targeting On Your Blog | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

Giving a unique experience to every visitor ensures maximum engagement that convincingly inflates the conversion rate beyond your expectations. Generally, blog visitors' get the same content irrespective from where they're coming from and what's their intent. This leaves big holes in your lead generation and subscriber acquisition strategies. To overcome this, bloggers employ different methodologies with varying complexity. Two most popular methods to spawn engaging sessions from visitors are personalization and behavioral targeting.

In simple words, personalization and behavioral targeting involves serving of custom (relevant) content to the visitors on the basis of geographical and various demographical attributes. This can be done in 3 different ways.

Implicit personalization - In this technique, custom content is served automatically on the basis of predefined parameters. Visitor himself doesn't have any idea that his visit has altered the default content of the landing page.

6 On-Page SEO Strategies That’ll Boost Your Rankings

6 On-Page SEO Strategies That’ll Boost Your Rankings | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

If you’ve been around the SEO world for any amount of time, then you are probably pretty familiar with the basics of SEO. You know to do good keyword research and you have to do on-page optimization.

Sometimes, though, that on-page optimization can go to a deeper level than just making sure your meta tags are filled out… and you can go to that deeper level without having to be a veteran SEO.

Here’s how:

Tactic #1: Search for synonyms using Google

The use of synonyms in creating an SEO plan for your blog or website is pretty common. Finding those synonyms is not always easy or done properly.

I think the best way to search for these terms is to use Google. The reason is you get to see not only the synonyms but how they are ranking in competitors pages....

#SocialMedia Tools #Oprah Style Favorite Things: Prepare To Scream Like a Girl | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

Social Media is evolving every day, or maybe even every minute of every day. It seems that new platforms are popping up all the time, so much so that it can actually be a tad overwhelming to say the least. I find that I am constantly tweaking the platforms that I use and honestly it has been an ongoing process. However I am so excited to say that I have found an amazing cocktail of social media tools recently that has really been working wonderfully for me.

Traditional Social Media allows an amazing avenue to share content. I consider it the vehicle to drive the content and can be a powerful thing if used properly. These channels are used to drive content based on particular demographics and I use each channel differently. The cocktail that I have compiled of traditional social media and the following channels has created the ultimate rocking social media tool kit for me!...

After creating content -- whether it's a blog post, an ebook, a webinar, or a video -- it's important to promote that content through social media channels.

And when you do promote that content in social media, you cross your fingers that it generates a ton of shares, tweets, and interaction. Gamification: Motivation and Engagement

Gamification: Motivation and Engagement | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

What’s Game Good For?

Before we can talk about applying game mechanics to anything, we need to understand what a game actually us. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a game as “a form or spell of play or sport, esp. a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength or luck.”

That’s pretty hard to digest as a something you can say to a decision maker! However, if we break it down further we can start to get at some core ideas that should help. Play and sport are all activities or tasks. Played is not a strong word in the corporate world. It conjures images of nerds playing quake after hours on the corporate network. So instead, how about we use completed.

Rules Can Be Starting Points

Next, rules. We all have rules, but it is not something you hear people talking about in businesses. Instead, we could say parameters or guidelines. All projects have parameters or guidelines...

Want More Copywriting Clients? Here’s a Surprising Way to Find Them | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

As a freelance copywriter, I’ve put together a nice portfolio of major corporate clients, ranging from Bay State Gas to Pizzeria Uno. And I found most of them in a rather unusual way.

I didn’t use SEO or pay-per-click. I didn’t go to networking events and shake hands with half the Rotary Club. And I didn’t take out billboards by the highway that said AWESOME COPYWRITER FOR HIRE.

I got most of these lucrative gigs in a way that wouldn’t cross many people’s minds — a way that’s unconventional and highly effective.

I sent them a sales letter.

Not the kind that’s an HTML page, but a good, old-fashioned paper letter in an envelope with an honest-to-goodness stamp.

But 2012 is now staring us in the face, and as long as the ancient Mayan calendar merely resets back to the beginning of another cycle in December 2012, we have a lot to look forward to.

For those of us who have spent the past several years using YSE to conduct competitive analyses, a few indefatigable qualities dominate a page’s likelihood to rank highly in search engines:

- Quality of the site linking.
- Quality of the page linking.
- Anchor text linking.
- Thematic relevance of the linking site.

Given that this information isn’t new in search circles, why are many marketers still struggling to generate the incoming links required to succeed?...

Let me talk about how I go about creating a social media dashboard

The basic answer is that I don’t have one tool (I have dozens, if not hundreds.)

The real answer is that I am not tracking social media.
I am tracking key performance indicators (KPI)
I don’t care if it is a shipping problem or a viral YouTube video.
I simply want to know how I can track it, manage it, and maximize results.

With that said: when I think about creating a social media dashboard or using a platform to track results… I am looking at several unique business identifiers that define what tool I need for the job at hand...
