It will be interesting to see if Facebook or facebookers can make video and chat work? I don't think so. The business model of Facebook has always been 'social' interaction and now asking facebookers to watch video instead of chat or gossip may turn the tide for Facebook.

Facebook taking a queue from porn sites. Great.
Is there anything more annoying that an autoplaying ad that you don't care about ruining whatever it is you're doing? Every time I run across one, it's usually below the scroll where I can see it so I'm like, "where the hell is that noise coming from?" (Then I scroll down and find the ad playing, right click on it and use my Ad Block plugin to keep that server from ever showing me an ad again.)

Thank you for your very useful information Wendy. I think you said what many people need to know to find their way in the social media world where the plethora of tools makes things, sometimes, complicated.

All these tools keep "leap-frogging" each other in terms of functionality so I just keep an eye on several of them which is where this community comes in useful to see what others think and are using :)

Indeed, at the beginning the most things are difficult and need more time. After it's rather the mind set who dictate the invested time in social media, it's right, I agree with you Gemma. But in my sens the invested time is worth it because it create many very interesting contacts across the world.

Sigrid, in my opinion, the best plan is to sell yourself on social media. Trust is the most important in this world and if your company name is not Nike or something like that, your name is definitely the best plan to create confidence.

Sometimes people fail to recognize the word "Social" in social media! As a web designer I understood the technical aspects of the internet well, but not the psychological ones, and I failed miserably at one point for this very reason. I finally realized how important it is to socialize and connect with others who share our common interests online, and its this very aspect of social networking that drives my websites today. I still have hickups with not connecting well on most social media platforms, but I nailed it on the head with Google+. So I guess there's always another hurdle we need to jump.
