cooala - Play, Discover, Benefit

cooala - Play, Discover, Benefit | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

An app for consumers to playfully connect with brands. In a thrustworthy and straight forward way.

Martin Gysler's insight:

Mobile App for Brand Lovers

cooala is a mobile App for playful and controlled interaction between brands and their fans - an answer to Facebook from the year 2012.

Why cooala?

Young consumers are not easily reached through advertising. Even on social platforms like Facebook, they have little interest in connecting with brands. According to a Forrester Study from 2012, only 6 percent do so the in the USA. Companies are complaining about narrow reach and high advertising budgets on the Zuckerberg platform, users are unsure about their private data and are annoyed by the massive increase in advertising on their Wall. This is exactly where cooala steps in: cooala users discover brands, subscribe to specific content, and benefit from exclusive content and offers from their favorite brands. All while keeping full control of their data.

For the user: Very playful

„What’s cooler?“ is the key question: Gaga or Bieber? FC Bayern Munich or Real Madrid? DC or Quicksilver? Ferrari or Mini? In different product categories, Fans choose their favorite from a suggested pair and thus build their Brand Map. New, cool brands can be explored through the photos and info on the site, and everything can be shared with friends. The best part: Fans only subscribe to exactly the offers that interest them: a VW event, a Stimorol sample, McDonald’s Coupons, or info about new products from Apple. And all of this in one place.

cooala offers its users:

a playful way to rate brands and share with friendsthe opportunity to discover thousands of new brands, soon also locallya way to collect their favorite brands in Brandboardsthe ability to subscribe to brands they love, receiving product news, event invitations, samples, coupons, gifts, and more. No spam - only what they’ve subscribed to.Complete control over their contact with companies

For Companies: Market research and accurate Targeting

The platform is also very advantageous for companies: for one, messages, information, and giveaways don’t have to be sent randomly and with high waste. Thanks to cooala, fans can decide themselves exactly what they want to get, and receive only the content they choose - a perfect qualified lead.

Companies therefore communicate with their Fans eye to eye, in common agreeance, and without loss.

Also very interesting: cooala delivers real time market research data about brands and their competitors, for example the coolness factor of a brand, market development compared to the competition, and the wants and needs of the users.

cooala offers companies:

Contact with high affinity target groups without waste. An unobtrusive, playful communication channel to existing and new fans.Anonymous market research data about their own brand and those of competitors.Highly efficient tool to launch campaigns easily and quickly with a target oriented approach.

The five cooala partners, all experienced specialists in their fields, are developing the app at full speed. CEO Mike Schwede is confident: “The reactions we’ve seen in young, brand oriented target groups is very positive. They are looking through the Brand Profiles, playing enthusiastically with the App, and are spreading the word through the Share Function.”

iPhone users can download cooala in the Appstore starting today. The Android version of the app is planned for Spring, and the trimmed down Facebook version is currently in development.

Build Your Own Mobile App With Appsbar

Build Your Own Mobile App With Appsbar | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it
Everyone talks about how important it is to build an iPhone or Android app, but it doesn’t look inexpensive or easy. Until now. I’ve been testing appsbar, a free Web-based app that allows small business owners create their own iOS or Android application.

I found appsbar.com when researching the digital coupon phenomenon (think Groupon and Living Social) and discovered a post by appsbar founder Scott Hirsch, who built the tool, in part, as a do-it-yourself coupon service. From the merchant point of view, the pricing of coupons is expensive. Most business owners considering coupons could benefit from a tool that lets you build it yourself and keep the profit margins higher...

The Evolution of Content Curation

The Evolution of Content Curation | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

Up until a few weeks ago I had a Content Curation methodology I was happy with, then something changed.

Part of successful Blogging is reading a lot, and I mean a lot. I have often got 2 or 3 books on the go. I’m scanning Twitter and Google+ hourly, I subscribed to some key source newsletters, download white-papers and have hundreds of feeds in Google Reader.

As well as Blogging, it’s part of my day job to ensure I am aware of the latest trends online.

A by-product of this media consumption is Content Curation; sifting through the news and sharing what I feel is relevant to the people I spend my time with online. Hopefully, saving them the time and effort of finding the information themselves...

Writing Tools, Part 3 – iPad Applications for Authors

Writing Tools, Part 3 – iPad Applications for Authors | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

In less than a month, my Apple iPad, as I described in Part 1 and Part 2, quickly became an essential writing tool helping me save time building my brand by planning, writing, promoting, and profiting from published books.

This is not to say, of course, that the iPad is a replacement for desktop or laptop computers. But, the iPad certainly complements them, adding a new dimension of convenience and usability that has recharged the way I work.

The following is an informal survey of the primary iPad applications that I have grown to depend on. If you’re already an iPad user, you undoubtedly have your own preferences – and I encourage you to share your preferences and experiences with me and other Personal Branding Blog followers...

Amazing set of features launched by Facebook since Google + launch

Amazing set of features launched by Facebook since Google + launch | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

It’s just over 3 months since Google dropped the bombshell that it was launching their own social network and inevitably the attention immediately switched to Facebook to see what they would do in counter the launch. Facebook were initially quiet but they went in to their famous “Lockdown” phase and started rolling out a whole host of new features many of which were lightly “inspired” by Google +. If anything the launch by Google seems to have helped accelerate the development cycle at Facebook with the main beneficiaries being the end users who are getting an improved service. Whatever way you look at it and despite the fact that Facebook were working on some of this stuff before anyway you can’t but be impressed at the staggering response to the launch of Google + by Facebook…

It's always great to discover new things all by yourself, but often curated content that's brought to you from links your networks have shared is a much quicker and more efficient way to consume all kinds of news, rather than spending hours browsing all around the web for it.

Review: Perfect RSS Reader brings the full Google Reader experience to the iPad | SOCIAL MEDIA, what we think about! | Scoop.it

As far as news-reading devices go, there’s no better one out there than the iPad. And among web-based apps for subscribing to and keeping track of RSS feeds, Google Reader has very little competition. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the App Store is teeming with apps for the iPad that sync with Google Reader to bring news to Apple’s tablet.

Even with so much competition to contend with, Perfect RSS Reader has made an impressive splash in the crowded pool and made our heads turn. The app wraps practically every feature offered by Google Reader in a well-designed user interface and offers it all for the tantalisingly low price of just $1.99.
