Interesting. Not sure if I can agree with a blanket best time on Facebook Pages. In general, yes, after 8 p.m. things will start slowing down but 8 am. seems late for the start as well. Delete the scoop?

Reminds me of the 'attention economy' in Geert Lovink's book "No Comment" I am reading just now for my research:
"In the attention economy, value is measured in the amount of time you happen to spend with any given media object or person. This can bea web site, watching your favorite show on television, text messaging afriend, talking on the phone, or blogging about the concert you attended-last night. For a long time the attention economy remained a hyped-upconcept, launched during the speculative 1990s to point to the shift fromthe production of tangible goods to immaterial services. The point thatmakes attention such an interesting commodity is the fact that it is soscarce. As Michael Goldhaber Writes in his 1996 Principles of the NewEconomy: "Attention is scarce because each of us has only so much of it to give, and it can come only from us-not machines, computers or anywhere else. Attention is another way of saying "time," as in "Where I choose to spend my time."Delete the scoop?

Venkatesh - if I am able I give my site as much media support as I can. As a social media trainer I need to 'try out' media before I can teach others to use it and give an insight into which is useful and which is not. So I tend to put my site and what I am doing out on the various social media platforms at least twice a day - I don't over emphasise my site because that can be counter productive (people switch off if all they see from you is self-promotion) and so it is keeping your presence alive but not switching off potential clients by constant ME, ME, ME. I perform both SEO services and social media training for others (see - just a bit of self promotion LOL)

Jayne, Thanks, but to be truthful, my comment wasn't addressed at anyone specific! I was just trying to get all readers (of my comment) to reflect on the extent to which they (positively) use social media to support their site. I am very interested in feedback in this issue, because I have been dithering about launching my site for a long time now.

A media plan is just as important as a business plan! I'm always surprised how many businesses operate without a written business plan, same for media, it makes a huge difference!

It has become clear that social media is turning into quite the process. It’s becoming more and more important, so many different tools and advice columns keep popping up to help businesses and individuals stay organized and successful when it comes to this newer marketing effort. This has caused many companies to create a full-time social media position for experts to help manage the many social accounts, follow analytics, get creative with engagement, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the payoff is only increasing as social involvement increase.
