Good Content Vs. Good Enough Content with @AnnHandley

You aren’t just competing with your competitors anymore, but you’re competing with yourself and everyone else for mind share. Sometimes it may feel like you need more content in order to get attention.

The answer IS NOT more content…it’s ridiculously better content.

In this day and age, how do you increase frequency of publication while also focusing on quality? Great question, isn't it?

While I think producing more is certainly not a solution, I tend to agree with Alexis Hall and Ann Hendley: You need to understand the value of great storytelling. You need to become a better writer.

Ann suggests 5 steps:

- Be you

- Define "you" in writing

- Re-frame to redirect the focus on your audience

- Have a distinctive voice

- Turn the small stuff into emotions

Excellent read!

Why Telling Your Story Matters

My latest contribution to the LinkedIn platform is short. But I feel it's too important not to write on the topic.

What makes your brand unique is the story behind it.

What is yours?

Quanto è importante raccontare una storia che gli altri abbiano voglia di ascoltare?

How Emotional Storytelling Makes a Good Story Great for Business

Storytellers are coveted today. But what makes a good story great for business? This article explains the key to emotional storytelling for business.
Cendrine Marrouat -

Like curation, storytelling is a vital part of a brand's strategy. It doesn't matter whether you own a business or represent yourself, people relate the best when emotions are involved.

The example in Ted Karczewski are from some of the biggest brands in the world. However, they all show what we, as consumers, really want. We want the characters in every story to be relatable.

The best way to achieve that? Make your customers the heroes!

People need readable material in any context and everyone loves stories.

I find the article to be spot-on. I do believe that having an emotional bond with a brand is good for business. This is because consumers want to have an emotional bond or they can relate to the brand in an emotional way. This will will make them have a better relationship and always choose to be loyal to the brand.

Seth's Blog: What do we get when we give to a good cause?

Why on earth would a rational person give money to charity--particularly a charity that supports strangers? What do they get? A story. In fact, every time someone donates to a good cause, they're buying a story, a story that's worth...

Create Great Video Stories with the New Google Story Builder

Collaboration has gone Google. Create a story and then share your video.

Looks like Google Stories is back in another form!

Lino's curator insight, July 12, 2013 4:13 AM

Why telling your story matters

For the last few weeks, I have been busy preparing the new social media workshops that I will facilitate in September and October. I love teaching those workshops, as they give me the opportunity to talk about the importance of storytelling in the branding process. The conversations often lead to very interesting questions and comments from participants.
