Use the Gratitude Method to Turn Your Audience into Advocates

From www.slideshare.net

Of all the techniques I have used to promote my blog, the Gratitude Method has been one of the most effective.

The slideshow below is adapted from one of the chapters in my recent article titled "5 tips to promote your business like a pro online" (http://www.creativeramblings.com/promote-business-online-tips/).

The Marketer's Guide To SlideShare

From blog.kissmetrics.com

I want to show you a big opportunity that leads to other big opportunities. This “opportunity” gets 60 millions visitors per month and has an Alexa Rank of 174. You don’t want to miss out on it, do you?

The good news is that you can handle this. I’m not talking about writing an article for the New York Times. And, so far, there isn’t very much competition to face while taking advantage of this opportunity.

I’m talking about “The Quiet Giant of Content Marketing,” also known as SlideShare (a social media website where you can upload your presentations and show them to the world). SlideShare’s features make it the ideal tool to grow your business. It’s a crowded site with a highly targeted audience and low competition.

This is why I am not reading or tweeting your blog post

From www.businessesgrow.com

Headline writing is an art form in itself.

In this article, Mark Schaefer offers great examples of bad and good titles, and explains why they usually get read or not.

“In today’s world, you simply MUST craft a descriptive, accurate, catchy and “tweet-able” headline. I know this aspect of blogging has been written about before so I am mystified as to why it remains such an obstacle to so many bloggers.”

The Simple Reason Facebook Pages Are Losing Reach: Negative Feedback

From socialfresh.com

From the article:

"Over the past month or so, everyone has been complaining about getting less reach on Facebook. That the algorithm has changed. And that Facebook is now a pay to play system.

Changes have definitely taken place. And as the dust settles we learn more and more about what has really happened, both from Facebook and from the data.

One of the more impactful changes all page admins need to be aware of is that the latest major change in edgerank is now valuing Facebook post negative feedback at a much heavier weight.

This means, as a Facebook page, negative feedback on your content can effectively destroy your post’s reach."

You do not have to do everything on your own (extract from my new eBook)

From www.creativeramblings.com

"Everything starts with an idea. The idea then becomes similar to a game of chess. Each piece on the board plays a specific role in your strategy, and every move you make has the potential to change the outcome. At the end, your winning depends on your outwitting your opponent.

In social media, the biggest opponent to outwit is not direct competition. It is you."

Building Your Business On Facebook Is Insanity

From thetysonreport.com

"This was so predictable it’s not even funny.

In case you’ve missed the chatter of the last few weeks, lots of small business are angry because they suspect Facebook is now restricting the access they get to their ‘fans’ through the platform by up to 40%… unless they pay up."

Examining the rage of a social media rant | Sword and the Script

From www.swordandthescript.com

From the article:

"Ranting has become cool. You can earn a reputation by tearing down someone, something or some brand.

For the believers in that notion called “personal branding” the rant has become something of a logo, a tagline or a calling card. However, rants are a lazy writer’s crutch: they are usually heavy on emotion and light on facts or research. Usually, a rant is a gamble that snark and sarcasm will be mistaken for intellect and insight."

Just like an unloved pet spends its time moping around, living from meal to meal, an untouched blog looks lonely and adds little value.
But in the right hands, and with proper “care and feeding”, a company blog, or an author blog, nonprofit blog, sole proprietor’s blog or any other blog, can provide a ton of value.

In this executive summary of a recent presentation I gave, you can see 6 areas that I highlight as rich territory for companies who are ready for action."
