How to Destroy your Social Media Credibility through Automation

Fake Twitter followers: A Dirty Marketing Secret

Cendrine Marrouat - cendrinemarrouat.com:

Twitter spam accounts have been an issue for years. The fact that brands, especially big ones, buy followers is proof that they still don't understand how to leverage social media properly.

Grow your followership naturally by being their go-to resource.

Ana Quillinan's curator insight, April 29, 2013 1:10 PM

This is the epitome in lacking integrity -- growing your followers naturally (organically as the gurus say it) is all about being their go-to resource -  no doubt about it. And, nope, I'm hearing more and more how many people know those followers are fake -- just click on their follower list and see how many 'eggs' and names with no profile descriptions exist....

Sad to see brands care more about their numbers than their substance...

Keep Your Sanity and Prioritize Social Networks

From www.thesocialmediahat.com

Find out how to identify your target client and categorize social networks accordingly so that you can focus your efforts on the networks that present the best possible return on your investment.
Cendrine Marrouat - cendrinemarrouat.com:

Social media is not a one-size-fit-all field. What works for an industry or a business may not work for others. And being on Facebook or Twitter is not a prerequisite for success. It all depends on your audience and where they like to hang out.

In his article, Mike Allton shares the technique he uses to help his clients feel less overwhelmed by social networking. He calls it the "Three Tier Approach".

Paula Correia's curator insight, April 28, 2013 7:18 AM

I discovered ThingLink today and have to admit that I am very impressed.

ThingLink lets you add “tags” to your pictures in the form of links, annotations, videos, music, and more, and share the result on social networks. When people “touch” the photos, they have access to the embedded content without leaving the page.

I see a lot of great uses for ThingLink, one of them being presentations.  And of course, it could be leveraged as a curation tool.
