There are 3 groups of marketers that FAIL at social media marketing. Are you among them?
As 2013 proved it, most brands have embraced social media.
Unfortunately, as McKay Allen states, embracing a trend does not mean that everyone is going to leverage it successfully:
“[M]ost marketers are failing at social media marketing. And sadly, agencies are leading the way in this failure by a) failing to effectively market themselves with social media, and b) failing to correctly implement useful social media tactics for their clients.“
According to him, there are three groups of agencies and advertisers that make some of the most costly mistakes, namely
- The ‘We Should Have a Facebook Account’ Group
- The ‘Post Some Stuff and Hope’ Group
- The ‘Comments and Like’ Group
I think this article serves as a great reminder that old-fashioned marketing techniques don’t apply anymore!
