Content Curation your secret weapon - Drive Traffic & Find New Customers

Content Curation your secret weapon - Drive Traffic & Find New Customers | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it
Using Content Curation To Find New Customers.

Being an Internet marketer for many years I’ve seen the landscape change many times but one thing has stayed the same “Content is King”, when it comes to driving traffic to a website.

As a business owner we all want to get new customers to our websites. Many have tried blogging to drive traffic to their website and due to a shortage of hours in a day they end up dropping the blog or hiring ghost writers to develop content for the site. We now have a new player on the net and it comes in the form of Content Curation. No it will not completely eliminate business owners creating content for their website but adds a whole new area of content development for a website.

Over the past two years I’ve tested different content curation sites and tools and have found Scoop.it to be the leader in both innovation and traffic building potential.

Below are examples on how Scoop.it can drive traffic and help to show the world, yes the world that your business knows your market.

In this article are 3 areas that when done correctly can drive new traffic to your business or brand?.

How Brands Use Twitter [INFOGRAPHIC]

How Brands Use Twitter [INFOGRAPHIC] | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it

Did you know that 97 percent of top brands are using Twitter in 2013, compared to just 62 percent in 2011?

Recent data that surveyed more than 250 leading brands in the U.S. and UK, shows that two-thirds had multiple accounts on Twitter. More than half (57 percent) had switched the tools they used to tweet in the last year, and firms in the States tweeted significantly more than their counterparts across the Atlantic...

Via Lauren Moss
Pierrick Fischer's insight:

What we can learn from this:

- communication on Twitter follows the general social media trend with the uber importance of visual media (photos)

- Tweeting regularly (6-20 mins.) brings follower... but not engagement!

- most used interfaces to tweet are Twitter interface and Hootsuite.

Where is Buffr in this table? Also, I'm wondering: with engagement becoming more important than the size of your community, how do you succeed on Twitter?

How to tackle the challenge of social customer service?

How to tackle the challenge of social customer service? | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it

In less than a decade social media has changed the world and helped to reshape brands and businesses of all shapes and sizes across almost every industry throughout the globe, but it’s been particularly beneficial as a consumer service tool – both for firms and their customers.

Via Brian Yanish - MarketingHits.com
Pierrick Fischer's insight:

An infographic that makes you reflect on the great potential for improving your business if you INTEGRATE your social media inside your company.

Some companies, including French operator SFR, have even created a Twitter exclusively dedicated to customer assistance. A good idead, although it's missing on numerous other areas of social media.

The key here I think is to think CROSS-RELATIONS and about possible interactions inside the core of your business.

Take A Look At What Happens Every Single Minute On The Internet

Take A Look At What Happens Every Single Minute On The Internet | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it
Early last year we learned that one hour of YouTube is uploaded every second. It was a bracing reminder of just how many people are spending their time online simultaneously.

Created by rewards site Qmee, the infographic "Online In 60 Seconds" is a pie chart that shows off the sheer amount of online activity that takes place every single minute. The amount of YouTube videos uploaded has already increased from January 2012's 60 hours per minute to 72. Additionally, over 1.8 million things are liked on Facebook, and 278 thousand bon mots tweeted. Not depicted in the chart: the amount of work that is going undone while all of these items are being viewed.

Via Lauren Moss
Pierrick Fischer's insight:

Big data is taking on a whole new meaning with these numbers.

Imagine how much bigger the internet will be next year, in 5, then 10 years.

Probably one of the biggest, most exciting challenge of the next decade is to give some order to this big mess!

How Are People Really Using LinkedIn?

How Are People Really Using LinkedIn? | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it

Professional networking service LinkedIn blasted through the 100-million-user mark in March, making it even more powerful for finding a job, keeping up with colleagues and promoting your resume.

LinkedIn is growing so quickly, it's adding a new member each second. As the size of its network grows, LinkedIn is steadily getting more useful. But how are people really using the fast-growing service? Researchers at Lab 42 asked 500 LinkedIn users that question and many more, and came up with a variety of answers in this infographic.

Among the fun facts they uncovered: We found it interesting the way top level executives use the service in vastly different ways from entry-level workers. Let us know in the comments how you like to use LinkedIn, or if you don't use the service, why not?...

Using Social Media to Build Links

Using Social Media to Build Links | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it

Over the last year or so we have seen many changes to the way companies go about implementing their link building campaigns. With search engines like Google looking to distinguish between high quality websites with authority and spam sites producing numerous backlinks to climb up search rankings, it has meant that many traditional anchor text based links have become less valuable.

This has led to more and more companies focusing on social media to facilitate their link building campaigns. In this article we will explain how companies go about link building using social media.

Get your social on!

A short note on adoption rates of social media for the brands. In general, always go to where your customers are but pay a special attention to: Google + and Pinterest.

- While Pinterest is much talked about by marketers, there is still great room for newcomers, therefore more customer interaction.

- Google + is expanding extremely fast, but businesses aren't following that much. Starting a business page on it may be a good fit to be an early adopter, independently of the SEO benefits.

Social Media Analytics: Sentiment Analysis

Social Media Analytics: Sentiment Analysis | Social Media Tips & News | Scoop.it

" I talked a little about sentiment analysis earlier. Sentiment analysis mainly tracks the prevailing opinion of your brand and it’s most effective for larger brands, especially consumer brands. For smaller brands, there just aren’t enough mentions of your brand to make sentiment analysis very insightful. For small brands, scouring specific websites, such as Yelp, EOpinions, and other places likely provides more insights regarding prevailing opinions about your brand".

Looking for some detailed insight into your brand's performance on the web? Think about "sentiment analysis".

"Sentiment analysis" is a way to track and monitor your brand's reputation on social media, using an automated system, which needs to be checked regularly for correcting language and figures of speech (i.e. "bad ass" = good).

Software that work well to perform it include: IBM, salesforce.com, Trackur and more.

Have you ever performed "sentiment analysis" on your brand? I am wondering about the exactness of such analysis. You need to have a super performant system, well customized to have a fair overview of your brand reputation. And still, there is I think a large space for mistakes...
