Foursquare's mobile Explore screen is incredibly visual with its large photos above every item. To make sure they’re showing the best possible photos there, Foursquare has added a new photo ranking tool to every venue’s photo gallery on the website.
According to youtube, four in 10 shoppers visited a store in person or online as a direct result of watching a video. YouTube's external annotations technology is currently in beta but that hasn't stopped enterprising fashion brands like Juicy Couture and Asos from using it to create shoppable videos.
Previously, the tweets would show in a stream and you’d have to tap one to expand it, but now it will be pre-expanded to show you the content in the Card’s ‘media’ section. That includes articles, photos and videos that may be attached to a tweet.
There's a page for just about anything you can imagine on Facebook -- including every friendship. Whether you knew they existed or not, friendship pages have been there since October 2010, displaying every jot of information the network has about you and any given friend.
Now Facebook is giving those friendship pages an upgrade, in order to make them look more like Timeline profiles. And as a bonus, it’s adding a new page for you and anyone you’re in a relationship with: the adorably-named facebook.com/us.
An animated, rotating mosaic of Instagram photos occupies about the same amount of space as Facebook Timeline’s Cover photo; a small profile image, short bio and follower stats are situated just beneath. Photo thumbnails are organized in reverse-chronological order further down the page; click on one, and it’ll appear at full size alongside likes and comments.
Two of the new features from HootSuite are for HootSuite Enterprise clients exclusively:
1. Targeting Facebook users by age, gender, interested in, relationship status, and education.
2. The ability to create profiles for team members, limiting the target audiences of their posts by language and location.
All HootSuite users will now have access to:
1. The ability to respond to and track private messages sent by fans to Facebook pages, as well as to view the full threads of those conversations within HootSuite. 2. The ability to search Facebook via the HootSuite dashboard. Real-time monitoring of likes and comments via the HootSuite dashboard.
3. The ability to create a stream of group events.
HootSuite also announced the addition of five new Facebook analytics modules, allowing HootSuite Pro users and HootSuite Enterprise clients to track their reach, monitor people talking about this by region and demographic, and to track likes and PTAT and compare them with other companies’ results.
Facebook launched Gifts on the web in September. The product of its acquisition of Karma earlier this year, the feature allows Facebook users to give real-world gifts to their friends on the social network without having to know that friend’s physical address.
