This article discussed the steps to social media marketing success. You must first have a clear, goal-oriented social media plan. If you don't have one in place you may end up causing customers to believe you're disorganized and eventually drive them to your competitors. some steps to Social Media Marketing Success are as followed:

1. Research and understand your audience: know who you're targeting and what interests them 

2.Use same social networks as audience: Know which social media platforms your target audience are most present on and then focus on those platforms

3. Identify KPIs: Figure out what you want your social media plan should accomplish

4. Align people at your company with plan: Make sure everyone is on the same page about the plan. Once this is figured out then delegate which people are completing which tasks within the social media plan

5. Write social media marketing playbook: Write a plan for your social media marketing campaign. list KPIs, audience profiles, campaign concepts etc

6. Set aside time at beginning of week to prepare: set aside a certain amount of time each week to create a schedule of what you're going to post within that week

7. Develop a content marketing calendar: make a calendar that details what posts are to be made on what day

8. Post content that is relevant: post content that is relevant to trends and news as soon as they come out and that are relevant to your brand. 

9. Treat your social channels differently: Don't post the same thing on all social media platforms

10.Assign someone to act as a customer service rep: make sure there is someone there to respond to your customer's feedback and questions

11. Schedule metrics report: 

12. Reanalyze your plan on a regular basis: if something isn't working switch it up and figure out what things the audience is responding to more. 

 

I found this article very useful. I also realized as I was reading this that at my internship we follow many of these steps when we go through our social media plans. I've created the schedule for our posts for our upcoming campaign that details what is to be posted that day/month and how frequently we post. Also number nine states to not treat all of your social media platforms differently in order to be effective. This proved to be true for some of the brands that my fellow classmates followed for their projects. They learned that the ones who didn't differentiate their posts across the mediums tended to not be as effective in engaging their target audience.
