Social Marketing & Business Trends [INFOGRAPHIC] | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

Business-to-business social media marketing has always been a harder nut to crack than its business to consumer counterpart. A new study suggests that a refusal to embrace new social channels might be one reason why.

While more B2B marketers are using social media sites than ever before, Facebook (83 percent), Twitter (80 percent) and LinkedIn (80 percent) are far and away the platforms of choice for the majority of brands, with YouTube (61 percent) and Google+ (39 percent) rounding out the top five.

Pinterest is used by just one in four B2B marketers (26 percent), and Instagram less than one in ten (7 percent).

FIPT or Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter have put up some amazing numbers this last year proving SMM is here to stay and here for real. Debate the ROI at your company's marketing peril.

Time to get into the social media deep in is upon Internet marketers. As I stated in Social Media Marketing The Most Important ROI, the key isn't what SMM does to the bottom line thought as this infographic proves those kinds of returns are coming.

Social media marketing's most powerful return is how it changes US as the wall between US and THEM slips silently into the past.

5 Companies that are Rocking Social Media [infographic]

5 Companies that are Rocking Social Media [infographic] | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it
Success in social media isn’t something that happens overnight. As the old adage says, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and organizations looking for shortcuts and (especially) advice from self-pronounced gurus are often left scratching their heads in bewilderment.

This infographic takes a closer look at how five very-different brands are rocking social media.

Social media technologies take on many different forms including magazines, Internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, microblogging, wikis, social networks, podcasts, photographs or pictures, video, rating and social bookmarking. This visualization defines how these types of Social Media differ according to the extent to which they focus on some of all of seven functional building blocks: identity, conversations, sharing, presence, relationships, reputation, and groups.

Read on and view the infographic to learn how these 5 companies (Dell, Morton's, Unisys, KLM & ABC) are successfully utilizing social media in various ways, and details on the benefits for both their customers and business model...

Social Media Networking Explodes on Mobile Devices

Social Media Networking Explodes on Mobile Devices | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

This article by Athony Carranza for examiner.com details a recently released study by the internet marketing Research Company, comScore, which reveal the extent to which social media usage has skyrocketed on mobile devices in 2011.

Here's what you need to know:

**72 million Americans accessed social networking sites and blogs on mobile devices with 37 percent upsurge in access..

**“Social media is one of the most popular and fastest growing mobile activities, reaching nearly one third of all U.S. mobile users,” said Mark Donovan, comScore senior vice president for mobile.

“This behavior is even more prevalent among smartphone owners with three in five accessing social media each month,

**highlighting the importance of apps and the enhanced functionality of smartphones to social media usage on mobile devices.”

Here's what caught my attention:

**Social media and mobility have paved the way for innovation and transformed communications like no other time in history.

**Businesses and marketers will have field day continuing to aim their services through these new channels and capitalize on understanding its audience behavior.

The Social Media Statistics for 2013 across Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest provide us with an interesting opportunity to review where we may want to spend our social media dollars and time in the coming year.

2013 is shaping up to be a changing year in the online social media landscape. The Pinterest user base and relationship with online spend is likely to grow, Facebook is likely to roll out more products changing the landscape time and time again, and the Twitter user base is likely to grow, however Twitter needs to counter the issue of visual content quite quickly to compete in the e-commerce space. When considering where to spend your social dollars, be aware of your target audience, and wherever possible take the time to improve the visual nature of your content and you should begin to see some great results...

Visualizing Data at the Oxford Internet Institute - A Geography of Twitter

Visualizing Data at the Oxford Internet Institute - A Geography of Twitter | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

Online social media has become an integral part of daily life for many Internet users and there are now hundreds of millions utilising these services around the world. Concomitant with this growth of usage is a desire by companies, government agencies, and academics to study and map the data trails left by people using services like Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook. The data shadows and information trails left by users online reveal social, economic, and political processes and practices.

Twitter, in particular, is repeatedly used as a repository of social data because of its relatively open network that allows researchers access to almost any information published through the platform. Yet, despite the many studies (both inside and outside of academia) that draw on data from Twitter, there is little scholarship devoted to the geography of Twitter.

Have you seen those pre-written “tweet this” links and buttons that some websites use to make sharing a tweet much faster, and give additional control to the website that created it? I’m going to show you how to make a Pre-Formatted Re-Tweet Link or Button. When a user clicks on it they will be taken to their Twitter account with your message already filled in. All that is left for them to do is send the tweet! It’s useful in several situations, and isn’t the same as the stock Twitter Re-Tweet button.

Twitter is becoming known as the place to get news before it even becomes news. Getting news before everyone else has made it a premiere place to look for content, which by default has made it a premiere place to share content.
