You may have previously turned down networking events such as conferences, happy hours, and trade shows, but you’re missing out on valuable contacts. Maybe you’re afraid you’ll fail, but networking is a lot easier than you may think. Here are a few tips on networking successfully:

Don’t Try to Go to Everything

12 Most Twitterific Reasons to Participate in Tweet Chats

12 Most Twitterific Reasons to Participate in Tweet Chats | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

Keeping up with every new social media tool is like trying to catch the wind. Impossible. It reminds me of my old expense account days in the 80’s, when I was single, and we made sport of finding and trying the hottest new restaurant. That was easy compared with the onslaught of new tech hitting us so often, so much, and so without parallel in human history.

What to do? Well, we all must make choices. For the longest time, I resisted Twitter. Now I can’t live without it. I also resisted going Mac. I even resisted an iPhone. Now, I’m Apple all the way.
