Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics]

Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics] | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

Two infographics provide data and tips to explain why brands must leverage visual social media in 2013 to stay relevant and grow.

Today, the marketing world is still hot on the social media marketing trail, but the trail has diverged. There are different paths with cheerleaders along the way no matter which path a marketer follows.

Ideally, marketers should find the path down the middle that marries all of the elements of social media marketing, but most are not there yet. Many of today’s marketers are still choosing a single path to focus on or jumping back and forth.

For example, those paths include the data and metrics focus, the storytelling focus, the visual focus, and more. This article hones in on the visual focus with the help of two great infographics that visually share the data and tell the story of visual storytelling...

How Much do Small Businesses Spend on Social Media? | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

The hype around social media just keeps growing and growing. The problem is that many small businesses jump on the bandwagon without even analyzing whether or not it will be a waste of time for them.

So how much time do small businesses really spend on social media platforms?
This infographic from VerticalResponse attempts to answer that question...

Content Marketing in 6 Steps

Content Marketing in 6 Steps | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it
Most marketers have realised by now that they have to swap from the classic communication approach of sending & advertising to an approach based on content. But for most people the exact meaning of that is rather intangible.

Answers to 43 Questions About Search, Social, Content, Conversions and More

Answers to 43 Questions About Search, Social, Content, Conversions and More | Social Media (network, technology, blog, community, virtual reality, etc...) | Scoop.it

A great post about various subject as: SEO, Content Management, Conversions and a lot more. Very interesting. [note Martin Gysler]

I was clearly under-prepared for the amazing responses. In order to tackle such a magnitude of great questions, I'm giving myself some rules for replies.

If I don't have a good answer, I won't tackle the question. For example, Nathaniel Deal asked a good one on .NET viewstates impacting SEO, and while I'd love to reply, I don't know enough about them to provide solid suggestions. No answer can be longer than two paragraphs (plus maybe an explanatory image/graphic). Everyone who asked a great question gets their tweet embedded in this post (using Twitter's nice, new embed functionality), which also gives a spiffy followed link to their tweet. Where possible, I'll provide links to content for more detail so those who are particularly interested can follow up.

Let's get started!

HI Martin.
Thanks for sharing.
I really like the new Twitter embed feature. Unfortunately, I must note that it does not work well for text-to-speech because It constantly repeats the original tweet. Tiny flaw. More importantly, there is some great wisdom in this articles.
