Take the Library to the People! [The 'M' Word - Marketing Libraries]

Take the Library to the People! [The 'M' Word - Marketing Libraries] | Social Media Marketing y bibliotecas | Scoop.it

De multiples exemples d'hors-les-murs qui revisitent le 'concept'

"You need to take the library to the people instead of waiting for the people to come to the library."

Many public libraries around the world are taking their resources out to the people in new and interesting ways, which brings lots of media coverage and increases circulation. Here's a  sampling of great projects to inspire you. They include libraries built where travellers are, libraries that move on four legs, and libraries on wheels.

It's an early beta but looks promising for making more interesting presentations. Not at "swoopy" as Prezi (that's good).

The Three Pillars Of SEO In 2013: Content, Links, And Social Media

The Three Pillars Of SEO In 2013: Content, Links, And Social Media | Social Media Marketing y bibliotecas | Scoop.it

A good SEO strategy is the difference between your business easily being found online and getting lost in the noise of thousands of other businesses trying to stand out. With Google’s ever-changing algorithm, it can be difficult to know what’s effective here and now.

In 2013, success in SEO hinges on businesses putting together a robust combination strategy that brings together an integrated web of great content, credible links, and social signals. Each of these pieces supports the other, providing tremendous value to readers, building your authority and brand value, and distributing your content across new channels. Here are the highlights of what to think about in terms of each of the three pillars of great SEO.

Dashboard of Things: The Third Evolution of Netvibes Dashboard Intelligence

Dashboard of Things: The Third Evolution of Netvibes Dashboard Intelligence | Social Media Marketing y bibliotecas | Scoop.it

Today marks a major milestone in the evolution of Netvibes — the Dashboard of Things. Before we dive into the news, let’s take a look back at the evolution of Netvibes over the years.

(Pictured) With the launch of our new Dashboard of Things (DoT), Netvibes is taking dashboarding to the next level by empowering you to take control and program automatic actions on your Internet, including your apps, data and smart devices connected to the Internet of Things. DoT isn’t just about remote-controlling your devices: rather, DoT enables you to program automatic interactions between anything on your dashboard by creating a Potion. You can choose from pre-made Potions (shared by Netvibes or, soon, the community), or you can create a new Potion from scratch by selecting the ingredients: e.g., If A or B triggers happen, then do X and Y actions; otherwise do Z. Welcome to your Programmable Netvibes!

A Day In The Life Of The Internet – infographic

A Day In The Life Of The Internet – infographic | Social Media Marketing y bibliotecas | Scoop.it

'There are close to two and-a-half billion people online around the world – this number has grown 566 percent since the year 2000 – and 70 percent of them use the internet every day. As you might imagine, with that kind of presence, which amounts to more than a third of the global population, quite a lot happens over the course of each 24 hours.

The Internet never sleeps.  Is it possible to even fathom the idea of any given moment without someone in the world being connected to the Internet for one reason or another?  It wasn’t that long ago that the Internet wasn’t even a thing, but anymore it’s something that we can’t do without.  ztake a look at “A Day in the Life of the Internet”...
