As social media becomes an important part of business culture, considering the social media impact of decisions has to be part of the process for B2B companies. According to a recent study by the Zeno Group, CEO of all companies, but especially B2B companies, are not taking social media and its impact on their reputation online into account when making decisions. This has potential impact on attracting prospects and retaining customers, as social media sites and other online sources continue to be business people’s first stop when searching for information about companies.

Here are some highlights:

  • 43% of B2B CEOs never consider social media reputation in decision making
  • Only 45% of B2B Executives believe their company can respond to a negative online post within 24 hours
  • 13% of B2B companies would not engage an audience online at all to defend their reputation

this article pointed out a very common moden behaviour of comsumers which is that their communication habbit has shiffted from receving all messages and information to selective ones only and those are commenly the ones thats short. This article pointed out the importance of understanding people's communication behaviour and as a marketer, we should design ads thats fits the behaviour of comsumers which is make it easy for comsumers to understand and short. A good marketer should be able to understand how to be communicate effectivly with comsuers.

As long as the ads that are short get to the point staright away and don't creat confusion between the brand and the message. Sometimes long ads drag on for too long and teh mesage is lost

Interesting article. Very strong numbers, for any brand who wants to be successful in the near future. The next generation will be completely digital. A brand can disappear in a split of second if her communication is not clear, interesting, and without doubts. The viral marketing is a powerful tool but if not use wisely can be really destructive (example for Samsung in Portugal).
