B2B Marketers Prefer Twitter To Facebook, 85% To 81% [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter

B2B Marketers Prefer Twitter To Facebook, 85% To 81% [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it

A new infographic from LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, the network’s business development arm, shows that 93% of B2B marketers are using content marketing, 73% are creating more content than they did last year, and 58% plan to increase their content marketing budgets over the next year.

More specifically, the most preferred content distribution platform for surveyed B2B marketers was LinkedIn (confirmation bias, anyone?) followed by Twitter coming out ahead of Facebook, YouTube, and Google+.

The top 3 goals of B2B marketers, as depicted in the infographic below, are brand awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition. Twitter is definitely a powerful tool to accomplish all three.

What is marketing strategy?

What is marketing strategy? | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it

Marketing strategy is sorting out who your audience actually is, and then finding out what has meaning for them. What do they care about, and how does this relate to your offer? What message can you deliver that is both true and meets your consumer squarely at the level of their needs? Marketing strategy is the process of uncovering messages that can be heard. Marketing strategy allows you to answer the crucial question your offer must address: “Why should I care?” To paraphrase Peter Drucker: Consumers do not buy what you sell. They buy what has value to them.

How much is twitter worth (to small businesses)?

How much is twitter worth (to small businesses)? | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it

Today the third major social network is becoming a public company. As with all major IPO’s, we will read a lot of diverse and conflicting opinions on its valuation: to some Twitter will be an overpriced money-losing startup, to others it will be the next major player of the Web and undervalued.

To add a data point to the debate, the Scoop.it team decided to study the value of social networks to small and mid-size businesses.

Paul Squirrell's curator insight, November 8, 2013 3:56 AM

Twitter's IPO has caused much debate, but for advertisers and their agencies the company's future direction is important.  Despite it's healthly IPO share price, Twitter is yet to make a profit.  Like Facebook  the media all talk about the revenue potential which is likely to come from advertising, but unlike Facebook, I feel this is a platform less suited to commercial communications given that Twitter's virtual environment is far less rich and that it is more about the words (micro-blogs), than images.

Of course, the wonderful thing about advertising is that, it normally finds a way through... so lets see.

It also allows you to monitor your data and your social networks. After reading this scoop, I really advice people to use these apps and to benefit from them. It's also amazing how Google made them all in one as a cloud, were you don't have to worry about loosing informations or data.

Moreover, most of these apps and tools are free to use. Even for the ones that you have to pay for them, it's actually not expensive and really worth what are you paying for.

How to Leverage Infographics for B2C Marketing

How to Leverage Infographics for B2C Marketing | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it

The effectiveness of an infographic as a marketing material depends in large part on the presentation or layout. The visual appeal plus the way information is displayed can go a long way to securing a sale.

Infographics present statistical data in a more palatable manner. Basically, it delivers information as a story, in a way that’s easier to understand. That’s why data shown in these graphics are more easily retained by viewers than if they read it in a paragraph.

With that in mind, marketers can take advantage of this potential and present their products in such a way that it will remain in the minds of the consumers. One of the best ways to do that is to tell a tale....

315 Businesses Boost Rankings by Optimizing Their Google+ Local Pages [Study] - Search Engine Watch | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert

315 Businesses Boost Rankings by Optimizing Their Google+ Local Pages [Study] - Search Engine Watch | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it
After enhancing their Google+ profiles, the businesses increased the instances in which they ranked in the top seven local positions by 179 percent, in the top two positions by 399 percent, and in the third through fifth positions by 97 percent.

Condensed...

5 Proven Ways to Optimize A Brand's Google+ Local Profile

1. Craft Custom Business Descriptions for Each Location

When building a business description for any business location, focus on keywords the target market would use while searching instead of an explanation of services, facilities, products, etc. that set your business apart from competitors.

2. Add Additional Information (Photos, Videos, etc.)

While there are always fluctuations to the local algorithm, it is essential to monitor performance, because the number of photos a business adds may positively or negatively influence its rankings.

Because a business' primary photo is the first one potential customers will see, ensure that photo is eye-catching.

3. Identify and Remove Duplicate Listings

Duplicate listings are undesirable for any business, because they essentially pit that business against itself. Compounding the problem, one of the listings often contains incorrect information.

Ultimately, a business' rankings suffer when reviews, click history, third party citations, etc. are split between two listings.

4. Identify Third Party Sites Where Adding Listing Information Can Improve Google Rankings

Google uses many off-site ranking factors to determine local results. Not only does Google check to see if other sites are mentioning the business; it also looks to see if that website is reputable. Because of this, it is critical to identify the most influential third party sites and submit robust information.

5. Modify Each Listing to Rank for Both Long- and Short-Tail Search Terms on a Continual Basis

As with almost any other digital marketing strategy, it is essential to keep tabs on Google business listings. The beginning of the optimization process requires the most maintenance.

Viral Marketing Examples and Why They Worked | Help Scout | Social Media marketing | Scoop.it

In defining viral marketing, many creative descriptions have been put forward.

At its core, viral marketing is simply the “spread of an idea” that helps market your business or cause. It’s putting material out there that by its very nature attracts attention and discussion.

Perhaps the most objective way to look at the practice of viral marketing is to examine the research of some highly intelligent folks who have dedicated years to deciphering the common elements of viral content.

Below, I’ll dissect some of my favorite research from an associate professor at the Wharton School of Business, as well as examine some classic viral marketing examples to see what lessons can be had from campaigns that managed to spread far and wide....
