It is crazy to think about where we have come from in the past decade with the internet. I remember when instant messaging was the next best thing. Now social media has taken over the world. So much in fact that we can now derive winners of oscars by taking surveys. Since so much of the world is on these networks surveys and attainment of information is becoming easier and easier. I'm eager to see where we'll be in ten years. At the pace were on now, my bet is that it will be pretty huge.

While growing up and going through high school I can remember the countless number of SNL episodes that I would watch which would have me dying laughing. Amongst these comical gems however would be a lot of skits that lost me and I had no clue where they were going. I believe SNL has been trying to do the impossible in the past and target an extremely wide age margin but were swinging and missing on some aspects. When they introduced characters this year from YouTube sensation videos I believe their targeting strategy changed for the better. They are now appealing to the younger generation and focusing on using popular social platforms to advertise and market their show. Interaction is key and SNL has came out of the dark ages and I believe it's success will continue to grow as long as they stay on the social media path.

It hurts when (the media is obsessed with money). It came at the wrong time with the wrong emphasis. That hurts us.
Costello's insight:

What the Reds owner in this article is doing is passing blame down the line.  I think that he is right is saying that social media can be to blame for the poor season ticket sales in the offseason but it is not the only factor and he should not have been blindsided. Bob Castellini should realize, as the owner of a MLB team in a country where baseball is our favorite past time, what is going to impact sales for his team.  In this case it was poor rooster moves.  if you want to be a leading franchise in the MLB you need to show your fans that your making big franchise moves that are going to promise success.  Social media has grown to be so powerful theses days and he should be aware of it. If you don't want to take harsh criticism, then don't leave bloggers or writers with any room to criticize.
