When Monty first came to Ford, the company then realized they needed to get more serious about their social media. Their plan was to increase Ford's reputation by advertising in a new and improved way. Monty's job was to be the leader and unite the team to help the company be even more successful.

When a new car is coming out a lot of thought goes into their audience before making a decision. They must realize who their target audience is and how to reach out to them. In 2011 when they Ford introduced their newest car they used Facebook to reveal it. "We reached over 100 million people on the social channels, and had 400 million impressions on the web. It was the trending topic on Twitter for the day, and number two on Google trends, and that was only because it was a day that Lindsay Lohan was being released from rehab."

The key to success is being a real human when advertising. You can not just be constantly pushing people to buy something and only connect to them in that way. You must monitor everything that is happening in the world and talk about that also. On social media yes you must advertise about your product, but you need to connect to the people and talk about major things that are happening around the world. This will help you in the long run and help with success.

From the help of social media, this is helping major companies bring in more money to help expand in grow. However for some other companies they are going to go down hill. Being successful with this is not by being the flashiest, but being the most logical. You must be very technical in order to be successful.

In 2014, it is now said that companies are not just using social media to help get their brand name out. It is not an essential part of advertising and must be done. "With 73 percent of U.S. internet useres turning to social networking sites and 53 percent of American adults carrying a smart phone, businesses that don’t employ social network marketing may find themselves losing out to the competition."
