Find, Create, and Embed Interactive Timelines. I have yet to try this but it looks to be a good tool for creating interactive maps.
This from the site's blurb. "An interactive, visually engaging timeline in minutes. Use dynamic visualization tools to display photos, videos, news and blogs in chronological order. "Browse through visually stunning timelines created by popular newspapers, politicians, celebrities, teachers and the Dipity community." Please add your comments or experience of using this tool in the box below so everyone can benefit.

I used dipity to curate news items on a timeline for the Nigel Brennan/Amanda Lindhout Somalia kidnap story. See here:

Thanks for that, great example. How easy was it to create?

Very straightforward. Although, I seem to remember having to restart the RSS feed from delicious every now and then.

The embedding feature is very useful. If you are already using a social bookmarking tool to follow a story, it's just a case of slotting the appropriate tag into the dipity rss to update the dipity on your site.

I used it for a couple of stories for the Frontline Club

http://www.dipity.com/frontlineclub/
