Jux - blogging from iPad &computer

Jux - blogging from iPad &computer | Social media kitbag | Scoop.it

I have just signed up and put up a test post from my iPad and I was impressed. It's fairly intuitive and fast. I needed to log on from my computer to do some fine edits to the site's look and feel, and I have still not figured everything out, but my first impressions are good.

Not sure how and why I would use it, but I will keep testing it. It links to social networks as expected.

From the site: "Jux is the ultimate place to share your photos, videos, words and more. It's like the IMAX of blogs. 100% immersive content."

Thanks that sounds good - I was wondering whether Flipboard planned on doing something like that. Another thing that would be great (long-term) is if they "sort" the material into pages of related stuff - I have very disparate groups of friends, some in Afghanistan, some in Egypt, some in media in the US, some who are hikers in Georgia... so it would be nice to have them in "sections" someday

Yes, I have acheived that by creating Twitter lists of followers in categories - such as Caucasus, Africa, etc. Then, in Flipboard, I create a page of that Twitter list so that I only get tweets from that specific group of people. David

right - I haven't gotten that organized yet with Twitter - plus, can't see any way in Flipboard to use multiple Twitter accounts, which is a big drawback since I manage five!

topically it's really FB that I need to manage --- and I also admin three FB pages, so.....

Zite: Personalized Magazine for iPad

Zite: Personalized Magazine for iPad | Social media kitbag | Scoop.it
iPad tools for journalists.

A great tool for journalists who use the iPad. Zite let's you personalise your news consumption down to topic detail and then share and comment on the news your are consuming. According to the site's blurb, "Zite is a personalized iPad magazine that gets smarter as you use it."

Might just replace Flipboard as my preferred iPad news and social media consumption tool.

Please add any experiences of using Zite for news gathering below.
