It seems a useful tool. Free of charge to download, use and upload material but check the copyright notices on the Terms and Conditions to check who owns what and when that changes. I mailed them asking whether there was a Creative Commons option for those more interested in reach rather than revenue and the answer was "for the moment we do not support the CC license model, although situation can change in the future." Would be a good option to add.

podcastomatic.com

podcastomatic.com | Social media kitbag | Scoop.it
helpingmedia's insight:

Podcastomatic works well. Simply add the URL of your blog and it will turn it into a podcast read by a robot. One or two issues which I will mail them about. If your blog has a 'read more' function as in WordPress or Joomla the robot stops reading at that point. The robot also reads information at the bottom of the post such as the permalink and invitation to add comments. But it's a good start.

Thanks for including Audioboo in your toolkit. I'm glad that you find it useful. I've just joined the team here and I'm an avid user of the app myself. It's great for recording short interviews, reports and atmos while on the move.

You can record 5 minutes of audio from a smartphone (or upload from your computer), add a picture, title, tags and geolocation data then set it to automatically post to your blog, Twitter or Facebook account. There are pro features being developed for businesses and media organisations and we've already had Al Jazeera and The Guardian use it from the front line North Africa.

Audio is a powerful tool and we're trying to make sound social. Follow us on Twitter @Audioboo and say hello. I'm happy to help with any questions you might have.

Happy boo-ing!
Kate

Matt's comment, March 16, 2011 10:09 AM
Al Jazeera, BBC, Press TV, NHK and lots more. I have been using the client for a long time and the screen grab from live feature is very useful. Chatting with viewers around the world to get their reactions to news is also quite insightful.
helpingmedia's comment, March 16, 2011 11:25 AM
Hi Matt, have you found it useful at all in creating stories?
Matt's comment, March 16, 2011 12:51 PM
Yes I have as it gave me background information, ability to talk to people following the story live and get live screen grabs in seconds. Quite useful.
