Fellow Ideators - Can we help you? The IW blog will have this and that; your first five "we met in IW and are building something" stories will get blasted far and wide. I stake my reputation on this.
Tumblr is on the cusp of doing something quite incredible. Google searches mentioning the service are poised to surpass searches for 'blog' by the end of the year, showing that the New York-based company has truly established itself as the Web’s most popular blogging platform.
Comparing the two terms, ‘blog’ is currently ahead — as you can see here – http://bit.ly/J3x5EH -but XKCD blogger Randall Munroe [via TPM - http://bit.ly/HPDkZL ] believes that ‘Tumblr’ will see more Google searches by October 12 this year.
Google search numbers are not an exact statistic, but the content of searches does indicate the popularity and interest in services, people and topics online. While it’s true to say that a great many blog readers go straight to sites via Twitter, RSS feeds, emails and other links, Tumblr’s continued rise is massively significant.
If you are a business or individual with a blog that you want to be found online, then running it, or another, on Tumblr is likely to bring you more traffic.
The business world has been largely unsure of how to cater for Tumblr — which is shareable and fast-paced as Twitter but populated with more inspiring text and rich images — and this is likely to be a wake-up call for them.

What is AuthorRank?
The idea behind AuthorRank is that your reputation as a content creator will influence the ranking of search results. Here’s the specific language from Google’s Agent Rank patent.
The identity of individual agents responsible for content can be used to influence search ratings.
Assuming that a given agent has a high reputational score, representing an established reputation for authoring valuable content, then additional content authored and signed by that agent will be promoted relative to unsigned content or content from less reputable agents in search results.
Agent? Agent is Google-speak for an author. This excerpt states that verified content by an author will be graded and it is that grade that influences the rank of content in search results.
'SEO based on page rank is about being found. SEO based on social signals is about being talked about'. Page rank is a useful guide to the quality and popularity of a web page, but it does not necessarily reflect truth. It could just be a reflection of some clever SEO work. Social signals are more powerful because they are a measure of true human recommendation. If 100 people tweet about your latest article, 10 people share it on Facebook and several people share it on Google Plus, while others click Like or +1, that shows your article is popular. If that happens on an ongoing basis across an ever-wider network of people, your website as a whole will appear to be more popular. Social signals are now a fundamental factor in determining positions in search engine results, both on Google and Bing. You may not think Google Plus is important because it’s nowhere near as popular as Facebook, but remember it is owned by Google. The value of Triberr and why Bloggers need to join the community. That's the right question! Maybe you should also join this very interesting community. [note mg]
I wrote a post last year that included Triberr called 5 Social Media Favorites from 2011. Today I wanted to take a deeper dive and try to undercover why more bloggers are not using this valuable platform.
Triberr is self described as a website for bloggers interested in increasing their reach. This reach is increased via tweets on Twitter. Triberr is so much more. It all starts at the top with Dino Dogan and Dan Cristo.
Dino is the entertaining and charismatic voice of Triberr, while Dan is more technical in nature coding away and continuously answering questions. These guys care. They care about you and your blog getting more exposure. They continue to work feverishly to provide a great environment and community. So, why aren’t you on Triberr???

Your Facebook fan page will automatically convert to the new Timeline design on March 30.
Mari Smith - http://bit.ly/GHNw4S - walks you through key elements you need to know...
One of the biggest feature changes that many businesses are upset about is the removal of a default landing tab.
The good news is you can still have custom tabs, plus the like-gating element still functions. You just can’t set a default landing tab.
However, each of your apps still has its own unique URL. That means you can drive traffic to any “landing” page you wish – from within Facebook via ads, your profile and other places as appropriate; and from outside Facebook on your website/blog, other social profiles, tweets, email campaigns, email signature files, and so forth.
To keep you on track with the change, here’s a list of 21 key points about the new Timeline design: http://bit.ly/GHO2jg ;

“When is the best time for me to Tweet?” Tweriod & Buffer have teamed up to help you tweet at optimal times inside Buffer.
So how do you get "your" best times to tweet in Tweriod? http://bit.ly/HDdk3P ;
In other words when your tweets will have optimal exposure and when your followers are online. Tweriod calculates this from your twitter profile's timezone and from the first 5000 of your followers and when they are online.
Here is a quick breakdown of the key Tweriod components: http://bit.ly/HDdSXv ;
* Analyse the performance of your past 200 Tweets * Analyse your followers and their past Tweets * Exclude automation apps such as Twitterfeed, dlvr.it, etc. * Get different suggested schedules for different days
From there you can connect to buffer from your dashboard and submit the calculated optimal times with your buffer account.
As you can see from my schedule, I need to be up all night to reach my followers, or alternatively would appreciate a buffer bookmarklet on scoop.it accounts - http://bit.ly/HDeKeI ;

Data about Pinterest is sparse because they've been slow to release their API, but search engine APIs were utilized to pull some data about the trendy social site.
Dan Zarella - http://bit.ly/IF8KCQ - gathered information from over 11,000 pinned images and did some analysis to create this Infographic: http://bit.ly/IF8Zhj ;
This data should be useful for Pinterest users who’d like to get more repins on the images they’ve pinned, as well as content producers who want their content pinned and repinned more.

Pinterest is all the rage, as of this writing... People are motivated to visit blogs from Pinterest by one thing: image quality -- Let's remember, every action in liking, re-pinning and sharing in Pinterest is visually-driven. Recipes, kittens in coffee cups, hot infographics, and inebriated people removing themselves from the gene pool - along with brilliant photographic and video work will get seen, shared (read: lifted and repinned to others' boards) and make you the cat's meow in Pinterest.
