L’économie collaborative à l’ère de la société fluide | Social media for Museums | Scoop.it

Museums Teaching with Facebook | Edgital | Social media for Museums | Scoop.it

"With over 500 million users, one in every 13 people on planet Earth is on Facebook. Museums, zoos, aquaria and other informal educational institutions have also jumped onto the Facebook bandwagon. Most use their page as a promotional tool – a kind of up-to-the-minute newsletter – informing their audience about events, programs and exhibitions. A few, but only a very few, use Facebook and other social media outlets as educational tools as well."

Digital storytelling: How to tell a story that stands out in the digital age? | The Museum of the Future

Digital storytelling: How to tell a story that stands out in the digital age? | The Museum of the Future | Social media for Museums | Scoop.it

"To address the most important issue first: there is no such thing as digital storytelling. There’s only storytelling in the digital age, and frankly speaking this isn’t much different from storytelling in the age of hunters, gatherers, dinosaurs and ICQ. This doesn’t mean it cannot be challenging to tell a story people react upon online. On any given moment, hundreds of stories are unfolding around you, on Facebook, Twitter, and in niche social spaces. Many of them are much more interesting than anything a museum can possibly offer, at least, in the right here right now (because Justin Bieber might have really died this time, and you don’t want to be the last person to retweet that, do you?)."

I went to MoMA and...

Un des plus innovants "livres d'or numérique" actuels est celui du Museum of Modern Art à New York !

http://vimeo.com/33538321

Museum 2.0: 17 Ways We Made our Exhibition Participatory

Museum 2.0: 17 Ways We Made our Exhibition Participatory | Social media for Museums | Scoop.it

After a year of tinkering, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History is now showing an exhibition, All You Need is Love, that embodies our new direction as an institution. It is multi-disciplinary, incorporates diverse voices from our community, and provides interactive and participatory opportunities for visitor involvement. The exhibition is far from perfect, but it's a big step towards reflecting the "thriving, central gathering place" of our strategic vision.

Crafting careful "prompts" or thoughtful questions that elicit more than repetitive and banal responses from visitors can be tough. But why bother to even waste the sticky notes if you're only going to ask such overly open-ended questions as: "Tell us about your favorite memory about (insert exhibition theme here)?"
