I think this statement captures the essence of the piece: "A curator ingests, analyzes and contextualizes web content and information of a particular nature onto a platform or into a format we can understand". I tend to think of it as the skill required to separate news from noise. #curation

The New York Times Compendium is a content curation tool that allows you to clip, comment and curate collections of stories and images from the New York Times. The web-based service allows anyone to sign-up easily using Facebook or Twitter and to start populating new content collections with their favorite NY Times content. A standard bookmarklet for capturing content is available, and there are three types of layout to display your content collection: list, gallery and timeline. Free to use. Mooi gedaan.

Most of us know how rewarding and fun curating content can be. In my opinion curation helps to build bridges between conversations and fosters community. Not only is it an excellent way to stay on top of a subject and continue to learn about it, curation opens doors to new worlds and is the foundation for a more global collective intelligence. Are you in love with curating? I am! And so is Cendrine Marrouat
