I learned this a few years ago during an awesome class on professional presentation and Design - and it is something brands are still not understanding today - and to go on a side note for a second, what makes me so AGGREVATED is when brands share memes and horribly, butchering the meme and using them improperly - which creates such a backlash and mockery)
But I digress...To engage a consumer, a fan, a human - a very emotional being - it is essential to actually appeal to thier emotions and senses. Great visual content will definitely stick with your followers - however becareful, horrible and distasteful visual content has the same impact, but obviously in the complete opposite way you hoped it would.
