Twitter has set a price range of $17 to $20 per share for its much-anticipated initial public offering and says it could raise as much as $1.6 billion in the process.

Twitter Price Range has been set US$17 - US$20 / share for an implied valuation of up to US$12.5B raising as much as US$1.6B.

 

Some experts are saying the the offering "undervalues" Twitter and the enterprise value may be closer to US$20B, but we will only find out post IPO.  While working at an Investment Bank for 7 years, It is typical for pricing of an IPO to be up to as much as 15-20% below market to encourage an active and appreciating market post-IPO.  Something that did not happen when Facebook when public.

Pinterest enterprise value has gone from $2-2.5B to $3.8B today (based on the latest $225M financing round).

Pinterest boasts 24.9  M monthly unique users, when adding mobile users , it is closer to 50M monthly unique visitors.

Twitter looks like it will top $500M in revenue this year, but profitability appears to be a bit elusive.  Regardless $500M revenue and the 100% + growth year over year, will result in a valuation of around $10B.

Something "triggers" us to make a move.  It is something in the environment...in psychology we call it a "stimulus" that elicits a "response".  What is that stimulus that triggers so many responses in people that make word of mouth really work.  Perhaps there is a science to it...but why does Rebecca Black's Friday video have millions of views, and your YouTube video that has amazing information has 10?  Clearly Rebecca has a trigger that you and I do not have...what is it?
