Random Thoughts From Marketers Like You

Random Thoughts From Marketers Like You | Social Media Collaboration | Scoop.it

Channeling inner Homer Simpson. As marketers tackle the inbound marketing terrain, here's what's going through their brain.... One of my colleagues recently stumbled across this awesome piece of curated content -- compiled from the random thoughts of a guy named Aaron Karo at ruminations.aaronkaro.com -- and it got me thinking about all the random thoughts that cross my mind when I'm knee deep in inbound marketing. So I tapped into the minds of my fellow inbound marketers to come up with a marketing-themed parody of Aaron's list. Here's what we've all been thinking. I'm willing to bet a few of these have crossed your mind, too. Feel free to share your favorites using the tweet links below and hashtag #mktgthought....

10 Awesome Twitter Analytics and Visualization ToolsTwitter Tools and Twitter Tips Blog | Social Media Collaboration | Scoop.it

After researching over a thousand Twitter Tools for the Twitter Tools Book I came across many tools that tried to add value by presenting a different way to visualize or analyze your tweets, the people in your network, and the tweets from the people in your network.

Many tools tried to add value and failed.  At least they tried.  The following tools, however, stand out in my mind as exceptional or entertaining and I recommend you check them out if you want to analyze and visualize your activity on Twitter....

By using lists lists and hash tags effectively twitter can be u useful curation tool. Storify another mentioned in this article could also be a useful tool to curate twitter content

Andreas Kuswara's comment, June 11, 9:22 PM
I supposed twitter can be used or any tool can be used for anything, but some tools are made with certain intended affordance by the creator that would make the tool less effective for certain functions. curation in a way is capturing things void of time (i probably drawing too much from museum), while twitter is fast pace timeline of interactive (or one way) discourse.... they seems to be inherently different.

i'm just automatically sceptical when 'one tool can be use for all' theme appear. but it is an interesting suggestion.
Bonnie Bracey Sutton's comment, June 11, 9:33 PM
Many people learn one tool and then move on to others. I like to analyze each and use the best features of that particular 2.0 project. I use twitter as a push tool to share info for the most part.

How to Make your Local Website More Findable

How to Make your Local Website More Findable | Social Media Collaboration | Scoop.it

Two key concepts: keywords and and analytics... If you’re attempting to make your website findable on search engines, the keywords you use are critical to your success. Let’s say you are a dentist in Los Angeles practicing general dentistry, Invisalign teeth straightening, and dental implants. For those three services, the amount of keywords that searchers use to find you are many. Because of that, you have to carefully think through what’s good to use and what is not. Say a consumer has a cavity and he believes it may take a crown to cover the tooth. Knowing that, what would the consumer type in the search engines to find a dentist for this? Before you look at the list of possible keywords, first think of one or two keywords you would type in. Then compare to the list below and you’ll see how many possibilities there are....
