What Students And Parents Think About Mobile Technology - Edudemic | Social Media: Changing Our World of Education | Scoop.it

Look around at any restaurant or mall and it’s easy to see: adults are always connected to their mobile devices. But as this technology becomes even more ingrained in our lives, what can we expect for our children? Studies show that – used wisely – technology can be an important part of their everyday lives as well.

Check out the infographic below to see how mobile technology is integrated into the lives of even the youngest kids.

Coolwired's insight:

Mobile technology is still so new, in education. It is everywhere in our daily lives, but what are the effects on children's learning skills? How does it affect their social attitudes and physical growth? The Pros and Cons are still being studied and determined. Tell me what you think.

10 Compelling Reasons to Brand Yourself by Curating Other People’s Content

10 Compelling Reasons to Brand Yourself by Curating Other People’s Content | Social Media: Changing Our World of Education | Scoop.it

Good piece by Adam Troudart for paper.li

Adam asks "Is it ethical?

Yes, as long as you credit the content owner and link to the content source.

Is it helpful? Yes, times three!

It helps your audience solve their problems. It helps you gain credibility and authority.

It helps the content owner get more traffic"

**** I have one thing to add here - if you like someone's curated content and you repost it on other networks, it's good to credit the curator.

Other headings include:

*** Content sells better than pitches

*** Become the go-to person

*** Engage and build connections

*** Get others to promote your posts

*** Get more quality followers

*** Use the same content on various networks

The A-Z Dictionary of Educational Twitter Hashtags - Edudemic

The A-Z Dictionary of Educational Twitter Hashtags - Edudemic | Social Media: Changing Our World of Education | Scoop.it

The A-Z Dictionary of Educational Twitter Hashtags:

First, What’s A Hashtag?

The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keyword or topic in a Tweet. Any Twitter user can categorize or follow topics with hashtags. Those hashtags (usually) mean something and are a great way to get a tweet to appear in search results or discussion monitoring.

For example, the popular #edchat hashtag is used by thousands of users every Tuesday. It makes it easy (sort of) for people to monitor what’s happening in the conversation rather than having to try and guess what topics you should search for. By having a conversation on Twitter using hashtags, you also make it easy for any other Twitter user to join in.
