15 Content Marketing Tools I Use Every Day (And You Should Too)

15 Content Marketing Tools I Use Every Day (And You Should Too) | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

"Let’s be honest: none of us can run a successful blog solely on our own intuition. I know that I have a natural skill for growth hacking, and it’s something I love to do, but that doesn’t mean that I know the answer to every growth problem I face.

The truth is, I have a whole tool belt of resources that I use every day for making my sites the best that they can be. I’ve set some personal rules for myself to stay focused, and I stay disciplined to keep on my daily tasks.

With that, I want to share those resources here, because I believe that you can benefit from using them just as much as I have—as they’re not really limited to one industry.

The secret to good content marketing is being able to ask and answer the right questions, and from there being able to create actionable steps that get you closer to your goals. Each of these tools helps ask a different question, so feel free to explore each of them as you come across new challenges in your daily grind."

The Breaking Bad Guide to Storytelling

The Breaking Bad Guide to Storytelling | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

"Few events get the creative juices flowing like attending a conference with fellow marketers. Combine that with the creator of Breaking Bad and you’ve definitely got our attention.

We already shared a few of the must-see sessions for content marketers at this year’s Eloqua Experience. But the opening evening keynote with Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan has us especially excited. Not only is he responsible for an award-winning series that I happen to love, but when reexamining the show’s five seasons, the lessons for marketers – especially content marketers – seem to pop out one after another.

So we teamed up with Beutler Ink to cook up an infographic for Eloqua Experience. “The Breaking Bad Guide to Storytelling” delves into the techniques and twists employed by the writers, producers and staff to keep the audience tuning in every week…or binge watching on Netflix."

I had the pleasure of attending a Guardian Masterclass in London — one specifically about Data Visualization for journalists, designers and marketers. Presented by both an editorial director and an art director, it covered both the story and the graphic design aspects, and the core theme of the course addressed a simple question – does your data tell a story and can you visualize it?

Make sense of your Instagram followers with SocialRank

Make sense of your Instagram followers with SocialRank | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

Use a social network like Instagram long enough and you'll inevitably amass a slew of followers -- but what do you actually know about them? If you're relying on mere follower counts, probably not much. That's something the social media analytics company SocialRank is hoping to solve. Following the launch of a free Twitter analytics tool a year ago, the company is today setting its sights on Instagram. After logging in with your Instagram account, SocialRank builds a custom report that lets you do things like sort your followers based on how socially engaged they are, or search their profiles for specific keywords. Not everyone needs to see a statistical breakdown of their followers, but if you're a struggling artist trying to connect with people in your industry, or a parent wondering who exactly is interacting with your kid, SocialRank's tools could be supremely useful.

The 14 Best Data Visualization Tools

The 14 Best Data Visualization Tools | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

Raw data is boring and it’s difficult to make sense of it in its natural form. Add visualization to it and you get something that everybody can easily digest. Not only you can make sense of it faster, but you can also observe interesting patterns that wouldn’t be apparent from looking only at stats.

To make the tedious task of making beautiful charts and maps easier, I’ve made the list of  best tools available for the job. I’ve divided the list into two parts; first covers the tools that require coding and are meant for developers, while the second list contains tools that don’t require any coding.

How to Use Hashtags to Grow Your Brand on Twitter

How to Use Hashtags to Grow Your Brand on Twitter | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

#Hashtags – I get it, they can be annoying. Or confusing.

However, using hashtags and learning how to use them effectively is important for building your brand,  growing your targeted followers, and increasing the reach and lifespan of your tweets.

Hashtags have several benefits. But I am going to focus on two.

Hashtags make your tweets more searchable within Twitter, which leads to more followers.Hashtags grab the attention of your followers, which leads to more engagement.
Via donhornsby

donhornsby's curator insight, April 27, 4:21 PM

This is an excellent look at how to use hashtags in an effective manner.

(From the article):

Using hashtags within the content : “@ARCH_Digital helps companies grow their #Brand through #SocialMediaMarketing. Visit archdigitalagency.com to learn more.”  Note that I used the ARCH Twitter username.  In any Tweet, if the company is on Twitter, use their username instead of typing out their company name.  In this tweet, I hashtagged Social Media Marketing and Brand. Those are two commonly searched words within the marketing industry. Also note that when a hashtag has more than one word, I capitalize the first letter of each word. This make the hashtag easy to read in that split second a followers has when scrolling through tweets.

Using hashtags at the end of a tweet:  “@ARCH_Digital helps companies grow their brand through social media marketing. Visit archdigitalagency.com to learn more. #SMM #Marketing”   I included all the hashtags at the end of the tweet. I used the most commonly searched words within marketing and social media marketing, and also hashtags that summarize the tweet.

Using hashtags within the content and at the end of the tweet: The last way to use hashtags, which I recommend, is to use a combination of both methods. “@ARCH_Digital  helps companies grow their brand through #SocialMediaMarketing. Visit archdigitalagency.com to learn more. #SMM”   This is what I would recommend using most often. I’ve hashtagged “Social Media Marketing,” which will help with search but more so help followers to notice what the tweet is about and pause to read it if social media marketing is a topic of interest.  Then, I added

#SMM at the end of the tweet. This is a commonly searched word, and will help grow new followers and increase the reach of the tweet.

9 Things to Do After Launching Your Newest Blog Post

9 Things to Do After Launching Your Newest Blog Post | Social Media, Digital Marketing | Scoop.it

The “content” part of content marketing is arguably the easiest. Creating content that is useful, insightful and shareable may require some trial and error, and there’s no way to know for sure if something will resonate as intended, but it’s still a singular task.

It’s the marketing part that tends to really trip people up, and for good reason. Far too often we focus the majority of our efforts on getting content just right – revising, rewriting, researching, and collaborating until everyone in an organization agrees that it’s ready to publish.

But then what? It goes up and you wait…hoping that the people in your existing audience find your content as useful as you planned it to be....
