Twitter Drops Huge Hint of E-Commerce Plans

Twitter Drops Huge Hint of E-Commerce Plans | Social Media | Scoop.it

eThe company is testing a dormant menu option that appears to hint that commerce services will be coming soon.

... This is the latest in a stream of hints that Twitter is preparing a foray into commerce. Back in June,Re/Code spotted a “buy now” button that began appearing in tweets with links to retail siteFancy. The same publication previously got its hands on documents that appeared to show commerce plans, while Twitter has been rumored to be working on a deal with payments provider Stripe for some time.

At this point it isn’t entirely clear what Twitter has planned, but the “payment and shipping” option – which appears to be where users would manage their payment methods and enter their delivery address – clearly ties in with other clues....

6 Ways to Make Your Content Drive Long-Term ROI | Hubspot

6 Ways to Make Your Content Drive Long-Term ROI | Hubspot | Social Media | Scoop.it

What if each of your blog posts and articles were conduits of cash that never, ever turn off? What if they kept on delivering traffic, conversions, and revenue?

I’m going to tell you how to do that.

To create content with long-term ROI, you have to write evergreen content. This type of content lasts for a long time. Evergreen content is like an article you read today, and think “Wow. That’s great!” And when you read it in a year, you still think “Hey, that’s a really good article!”  Evergreen content lasts, and it gives you a long-term return on your investment....

How You Can Prepare for Twitter’s Potential Upcoming Changes

How You Can Prepare for Twitter’s Potential Upcoming Changes | Social Media | Scoop.it

Twitter strategy might be shifting and the implications for our personal and business experience could be profound.

Source: www.businessesgrow.com

If you're in social media marketing, you probably cringe at the mention of the word EdgeRank. I know I do, because it makes me think of how frustrating it is that even the best of my brand's Facebook content might not be seen by more than 200 or 300 of our 57,000 fans unless I spend money to promote it.

Brace yourselves, social marketers, because algorithms just like Facebook's EdgeRank might be coming to Twitter. In this post by our friend Mark Schaeffer, you can learn about some of the reasons why Twitter is thinking about implementing this, including the pressure from investors now that Twitter has gone public.

Interesting article written by @Ally Greer. To me, the potential Twitter algorithm boils down to this: As a brand, you need to build relationships with your community of supporters.

In 2014, you have no choice. The popularity contest/honeymoon is over. You MUST focus on people. It's not a "me vs. them" approach, it's what should have happened a lot earlier.

It doesn't matter if you only have 50 followers. What matters is what you do with them. If you have taken the time to know them, they will help you make it to the top. Period.

5 Things You Need To Execute Your B2B Social Media Strategy - MarketingThink

5 Things You Need To Execute Your B2B Social Media Strategy - MarketingThink | Social Media | Scoop.it
How to build your B2B social media strategy with a solid set of rails and a reliable enterprise social media deployment tool as your engine.

Excerpted...

Consider these five key things to get going in the right direction when building your social media program:

1. Social Media Goals.

2. Measuring Social Media Strategy Execution Performance. Samtrix reports 75% of B2B companies do not measure or quantify their social media performance. Companies that measure performance mostly (56%) count comments and followers. Large B2B brands, like SAP, use enterprise channel management tools to help measure:

Amplify. Impressions to help us to amplify our storyEngage. Content performance, like retweets, Facebook shares and clicks to consume content, to help understand how content marketing strategy performsConvert. Conversion performance, by measuring clicks to a registration page or brand property, to see how social media messaging related to demand generation

3. Social Media Strategy. Social-successful companies, like SAP, have a clear social media strategy to articulate what we should be doing vs. what is distracting. This strategy helps filter every presented idea that . We can turn“We should do this” into “We should do this because it fits our strategy that helps us reach our clear goals!

4. Governing Your Social Media Program. At SAP, our robust program includes an approval process that includes a formal application to launch a channel, including one-year support plan for resourcing and content development. This process ensures a sustainable life of a channel and strategy. Your program needs to have a similar program.

5. Social Media Center of Excellence. At SAP, we have built the social media center of excellence to lead our 25+ marketing areas to drive their train on the track to success. Every serious-about-social B2B and B2C company needs a center of excellence program to empower and enable your social business stakeholders!

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, September 6, 11:12 AM

The feedback point is interesting. It is about information given to students relative to their learning goals. Feedback also means feedback for the teacher. What do we mean by student goals? What does this mean in relationship to curricula-as-plans. It suggests that teaching and learning are part of complex conversations (Pinar) and that the curricula-as-lived (Aoki) are important considerations.
