Nice info. I write for an MLM magazine and I'm going to spin this as a series. MLM'ers typically sit back and let their companies do everything for them (i.e. on the manner of tools). But in fact, most MLM company's tools suck BIG time.

They talk a lot about being hi-tech but very few are in the marketing sense. The big money earners are the ones who are pro-active and build their own systems. This info is stuff they could use. Most of them have no idea the incredible bounty of free-stuff that's out there.

Here's the Difference Between Content Marketing and Social Media | Jay Baer

Here's the Difference Between Content Marketing and Social Media | Jay Baer | Social Media | Scoop.it
What is the difference between content marketing and social media? And, with the burgeoning interest in the former, will the latter wane as a tactic or as a marketing term?

These were the questions posed to me by my very wise friend Jeff Cohen of the SocialMediaB2B blog. Jeff asked several other content/social thinkers and consultant-types to weigh in as well.

Here’s what I said:

Content marketing is a device used by companies to educate, inform or entertain customers or prospects by creating attention or causing behavior that results in leads, sales or advocacy. Social media is used by customers and prospects to communicate among themselves, and occasionally with companies. This communication can result in leads, sales or advocacy, but is often less structured and conversational, and can be reactive too, as social media is increasingly used as a customer support channel.

5 Tips for Finding the Right Social Influencers for Your Brand | Convince and Convert

5 Tips for Finding the Right Social Influencers for Your Brand | Convince and Convert | Social Media | Scoop.it

As marketers, we create content in order to persuade and engage with customers. But modern consumers are skeptical and savvy. The moment something hints of “ad,” they lose interest and move on.

Whether you sell fitness and health products, tour packages, or home services, a single positive recommendation from a trusted source can trump even your most beautifully written copy or most engaging video demonstration. And while brand-crafted content is useful and can help build trust with customers, sometimes the most influential content comes from like-minded people that your customers know and trust...

Getting Twitter right: how to perfect your business tweeting strategy

Getting Twitter right: how to perfect your business tweeting strategy | Social Media | Scoop.it

Twitter is only the second social network to truly stick fast. It has evolved since its inception to house photographs and other media, and successfully monetised itself without driving loyal users away. Crucially it has remained free at the point of use.

We have reached the stage whereby companies must add ‘a Twitter feed’ to their increasing list of things to do, on top of the phone number, website, contact email and Facebook page.

This important background explains why certain brands and businesses have opted not to have a Twitter feed. To leap on every social media bandwagon could turn out to be a waste of time. However, given Twitter’s huge success relative to other platforms, it also shows prioritising Twitter is essential for brands if they are to successfully engage audiences....
