Confessions of a Facebook Marketing Addict

Facebook does a bang-up job of getting marketers hooked on ‘likes’ and shares, but is any of it really productive?

This is a good heads up.  So often if you engage with a marketing person, they will immediately start telling you to focus on your FB page and getting a lot of likes.  Whenever I spoke to people who have a lot of likes and ask them what that means in terms of revenue, I never got any clear answers.

I frequently receive emails promising me 500 likes for $60.

Personally I think marketing that is focused in the most direct way to your target market is the most effective.  It's better to sit down and speak to 7 people directly than it is to have a huge group of people that say they like your page, but they aren't interacting with you and your company.
