To understand hummingbird, first you need to understand what a ‘search algorithm’ is. Search algorithm is a technical term that Google uses for sorting through several millions of web pages and other information (if any) to provide the users with the best possible search results. Hummingbird is such a search algorithm used by Google to ensure even better results. The name comes from being ‘fast and precise’. The implementation of this algorithm was done so quickly than even nobody noticed or understood until Google announced.
