My thoughts:

I had no idea there were so many different YouTube channels for teachers. I had always thought that teachers received all of their information for their lessons from the school board and had to do everything a certain way. I love how you can take things and change it; these channels are giving me many exciting things to try when I become a teacher.

Alberto Cardoso's insight:

Mindtools are computer applications that, when used by learners to represent what they know, engage them in critical thinking. This article discusses computers as semantic organization (databases and semantic networking), dynamic modeling (spreadsheets, expert systems, systems modeling, microworlds), information interpretation, knowledge construction, hypermedia, and conversation tools and presents rationales for using technology as Mindtools. To be good at work you need knowledge and skills, but without the right attitude you can never be competent. Can we consider intercultural skills a question of attitude?
Heather Nixon McLaughlin's comment, June 12, 2013 6:10 AM
Intercultural competence is having the knowledge of your own cultural identity as well as other cultural behaviours and the skill to be able and willing to adapt between cultures. It's like everything, no matter how skilled and knowledgeable you are if you don't have the right attitude then you will never be competent.

5 (less traditional) ways to create and share knowledge online | Social Media by Alberto Cardoso | Scoop.it
The communication of knowledge and ideas is intrinsic to the human condition. Our earliest ancestors had a rich oral tradition, through which they passed on what they knew about the world, often across great distances.

There are more than one hundred tools that I use frequently to share and collaborate and I became a fan of the "collaborative"(more intellectual) work, which in my opinion is quite different from what people usually call cooperative (more mechanical) [AC]
