Google just revealed plans to shut down eight of its services as part of what it’s calling an ongoing spring cleaning effort. -  Google Reader will be shut down on July 1.

I weaned myself off Google Reader when I started going deeper into content curation and using scoop.it - now I'm glad I did http://www.bethkanter.org/rip-google-reader/
