“Facebook contest ideas: the word of mouth campaigns you must see!” an article posted by Alexandra Erman explains 4 different types of interactive campaigns used on facebook.com. The first is a fan vote.  It gets users involved, and encourages a sense of comradery that makes people invite their friends.  Word of mouth marketing is displayed here because 90% of the participants were women with the same two interest: children and home décor.

The second type of campaign was a coupon campaign that was distributed through an app.  You could share the app coupon with your friends, showing how “word-of-mouth” marketing can be duplicated into “word of text” marketing!

The third campaign was a photo contest, which is a very interactive way to gain customers.  It is mobile, and promotes the “selfie” which shows that the brand using a campaign like this likes to keep up with trends and be relevant.

The last campaign is a simple quiz that keeps the user interacting with the page, and shares results with friends.
