The microblogging giant has warned news outlets that "these attacks will continue," particularly against high profile media organizations.
The Syrian Electronic Army struck again over the weekend, hitting another media organization's Twitter account. The latest attack appears to be in retaliation against Twitter for suspending its account.
I was never a huge fan of Twitter and I didn't see how a person could express himself in 140 characters, but apparently, Twitter has many benefits when it comes to reaching your learners.

The relationship between cybersecurity and privacy is complex. On the one hand, cybersecurity that protects data from intrusion, theft and misuse obviously is a significant privacy safeguard.
On the other hand, cybersecurity measures that monitor access and use can implicate the collection of personal information and thus raises privacy concerns.

I have rehearsed this scenario before, but try to imagine we live in a world where printed media had not been invented, and our only source of information and entertainment was the Internet. And then someone came up with a really smart idea, and gathered together a group of really clever people, got them to sift through the mass of information that's freely available in digital form, decide what's important and what's not, what you can trust and what you can't, and put it all together in a thing called a newspaper, which can be delivered to your very home. It's portable, it's not dependent on a wireless connection and, for many, there is also an intrinsic pleasure in turning over the pages. I posit this idea not to promote the virtue of newspapers, but to illustrate my growing feeling that one of the most prized - and undervalued - commodities in the modern world is curation.

A massive survey of internet users reveals trends in social media usage across numerous platforms, ages, races, genders, population density and which social media sites do they frequently visit. The Pew Research Center has released the results of a comprehensive social media survey, conducted over several years to evaluate which demographics were using social media, and on which platforms. Which social networking sites emerged on top? Of the online adults surveyed at the end of 2012: 67% use Facebook 20% use LinkedIn 16% use Twitter 15% use Pinterest 13% use Instagram 6% use Tumblr A decent amount of Americans appear to be using social media, but which demographics use social media in greater numbers? It appears that women use social media 9% more than men do, at a whopping rate of 71%. Other frontrunners with the highest social network activity in their demographic include city dwellers(70%), Hispanics (72%) and adults with a household income below $30,000 annually (72%). The most pervasive and consistent divider amongst social media users remains, unsurprisingly, their age. 83% of the young adult demographic (18-29 year olds) use social media, which is well over double the activity of online adults over 65 years old (32%).
