The New Revolution of Content Marketing [Infographic]

The New Revolution of Content Marketing [Infographic] | Social Media Advocacy | Scoop.it
Content is evolving and marketers need to expand their content marketing strategy to include visual elements into their overall mix.

The problem is that customers have less time due to the current state of information overflow. In addition, the fast paced world of social media has forced us to learn to digest information faster and sometimes even at a glance. This visual consumption of data lets us know the big message and allows us to decide whether or not we need to keep reading.

The future of marketing is found in photos, videos, infographics and other engaging content that captivates a viewer. For more, check out this infographic and learn how you too can build your marketing campaign with visual content...

This isn't really new. It is a given visual is a driver. In time this may be enhance by sound which has been an emotional driver for film, ads etc. for a very long time - but there may be something of a diversion here.

I am sitting in a cafe working thorugh online tasks. If I wasn't listening to the music here I might be on Spotify, listening to a podcast, something on my computer - so sound cues don't work so well. My phone is on silent most of the time so I can respond to it when I am in that zone.

So yes you are most likely to capture me - and others online - with visual execution and generally I get at least one laugh a day from a visual pun in my Facebook timeline - and I don't look at print (unless I am on plane).'

So it's not rocket science - visual cues are the strongest emotionally drivers online.

Rebel Dekadance 's curator insight, December 14, 2012 3:40 AM

Visual is Key! I learned this a few years ago during an awesome class on professional presentation and Design - and it is something brands are still not understanding today - and to go on a side note for a second, what makes me so AGGREVATED is when brands share memes and horribly, butchering the meme and using them improperly - which creates such a backlash and mockery)

But I digress...To engage a consumer, a fan, a human - a very emotional being - it is essential to actually appeal to thier emotions and senses.  Great visual content will definitely stick with your followers - however becareful, horrible and distasteful visual content has the same impact, but obviously in the complete opposite way you hoped it would.
