How Students Benefit From Social Media #infographic | Social Media 4 Education | Scoop.it

Social Media has fast become part of many people's every day lives. With so much new technology being introduced today, there are many benefits and reasons for students to be using social media on a daily basis.

Social Networks are being utilized by students not to just talk to their friends or share the cutest cat video they can find, but to make use of these networks to develop and enhance the student lifestyle. Many students are using websites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to market themselves to potential employers by setting up business pages and uploading videos for all to see.

I was surprised when I found this article.  It was an interesting read.  It is nice to read that there are some benefits to social media.  This article was a breathe of fresh air.  One benefit is web engagement.  Students are developing Internet presence.  They are learning how to interact with others online using different functions as well.  Another benefit is knowledge.  Social media allows students to send and receive information daily.  Students are able to analyze, retain and share information more easily.  The third benefits is connections.  You can connect and engage with others on the Web without ever meeting them.  You can share with anyone in the world.  The last benefit is social media marketing.  Social media allows young workers to become great marketers.  Students are filling businesses social media marketing strategies.  Having social media can help students bring their kills to their jobs.  About 31 minutes on average is the amount of time students spend on social media daily.  I figured the average was higher.  I never thought about these types of benefits before.  These are helpful benefits for the future.  Social media is not all bad.
