6 Pros And Cons Of Social Media In The Classroom - TeachThought | Social Media 4 Education | Scoop.it

"Like it or not, American youth are decidedly online. What Is Social Learning (And Does It Work)? - Edudemic | Social Media 4 Education | Scoop.it

Distance learning, e-learning, mobile learning, blended learning.

There are a slew of educational learning trends that have been happening for years now. And now, we’re adding social learning to the mix. The something-learning trend is continuing to move forward, this time putting popular social media to use.

Ivo Nový's insight:

The term Social Learning was coined by Bandura, a behavioural Psychologist, in 1977. His Social Learning Theory states that children learn through observing the behaviour of adults and copying, or modelling their behaviour. We learn by observing the behaviour of others in our environment and seek acceptance in society by imitating others.

7 Ways Teachers Can Create Videos without Installing any Software ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Social Media 4 Education | Scoop.it

"Today while I was reading a short article on the importance of videos in education, it dawned on me to compile a list of some of the best video creation tools to share with you here. I do have a separate section here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning where I have been featuring a plethora of video tools . But today's collection is somehow different not only because it contains the cream of the crop but also because these tools are all web based.

All of the web tools below do not require any software installation and you can work on them right from your browser. I am pretty sure you will find them very useful particularly  when working on video projects with your students. Please have a look and share with us if we have missed any important title. Enjoy!"
