Boy are these kids going to be mad at their parents by the time they're 20-somethings... "Why didn't you protect us?" they will ask. "Because we didn't know better," their parents will say.
Putting a kid on the internet without knowing anything about how cookies and cache and logins and TOSs work is like handing them a handgun or putting them behind the wheel of a running car and then leaving. Delete the scoop?

Teaching is a hands-on activity ( unless you are a lecture-based type of teacher ) that is deeply grounded in learning theories. Being able to recognize and differentiate between the different learning theories together with the ability to understand the reasons why you opt for a certain theory to inform your teaching and not the other are key to sound and successful teaching career. A truly sentimental and adorable idea a photographer mother shared. Her daughter was turning 8 and the class used the SMART board to list one adjective that described the birthday girl. My point is that if we use social bookmarking frequently, it becomes a mechanic process. Every time you see something interesting, we press the “share button”, add as many tags, keywords as we can think of, and that’s it. We’ll filter the information later on, no need to deal with it right now. Even if this process doesn’t save time right now. In the future, when you need to retrieve information for any kind of project, and if you have bookmarked it before, the whole process could be a time saver.

Integrating technology in your teaching requires beforehand planning and structuring. It also predisposes the existence of a set of learning goals you want to achieve through the integration of this technology in the class. So, the process is highly structured and pre-arranged and nothing is left for " happy accidents ".

I think many teachers struggle to truly integrate technology into their classrooms. I believe their is the common misconception that if you are 'using' technology you are integrating it into your teaching and learning. However there is a difference between the two.
