Six Reasons Why Your Brand Needs a Social Voice

Six Reasons Why Your Brand Needs a Social Voice | Social Media | Scoop.it
Social Media - Does your brand have a recognizable voice in social media? Here are some reasons for creating a personable, genuine social voice.
Clockwork Marketing's insight:

Now that your business is on board with social media, it's time to get good at it. This article brilliantly describes the holy grail of social media - emotional engagement. Trust and meaningful connections are incredibly valuable assets, but they are harder to achieve than you think - it's time to start thinking wider than just a quick status about your latest sale!

If you do just one thing today, make it this: think less about you, more about your followers/fans. Imagine you're their friend and think how you'd talk to them, what you'd post on their wall to interest them. Sure, intersperse this with business messages too, but consider a ratio of perhaps 7:2 - more about THEIR interests, less about YOUR objectives. This approach is will attract more fans, increase engagement and, yes, achieve your objectives!

Check out Innocent Smoothies on Facebook for a brilliant example of this approach.

In 2014 your business will have to rely more on paid media than ever before if you want to reach a bigger segment of your online audience
Clockwork Marketing's insight:

Facebook is no longer a free lunch for businesses. We used to talk to clients about how, done well, Facebook could be a free way to market their business...how the world has changed! Sponsored posts are becoming a 'must' - even for reaching your fans. This interesting article focuses on the importance of measuring cost per acquisition. Done well, we still believe that Facebook is an incredibly effective advertising platform...but we will miss the days of free. Helen - Senior Marketing Consultant

Wayfair.com: Driving home goods sales with Pinterest
Clockwork Marketing's insight:

Very interesting to how wayfair.com is embracing Pinterest though their own websites and using Pinterest trends to inform their buying decisions going forwards. It makes sense to do so - Pinterest sends quality website referrals with visitors spending 50% more than visitors from other social media sources, and 20% more than users from search engines.
