How To Improve SEO with Link Building and Social Media

How To Improve SEO with Link Building and Social Media | Health promotion. Social marketing | Scoop.it

If you were under the impression that building links on social media would be quick, automated and easy, now is the time to shed the illusion. This is a time-consuming, painstaking process.

We all expected that computers would make our jobs easier and faster through automation. Now the time we saved must be spent on relationship building. It does pay off in the end.

Successful link building requires a clear understanding of Google’s criteria for a high PageRank.

Sites are rewarded for good, original content and what Google views as “natural” link development.

For the past few years San Francisco-based Sessions has been developing a direct-to-consumer, mobile-enabled program for inactivity and nutrition. Sessions, which was a member of digital health accelerator Rock Health’s second class in 2012, is currently enrolling about 80 people on a rolling basis for a randomized control trial of its coaching program at the Mayo Clinic. Sessions first did an internal pilot at Mayo last year, which apparently went well enough to lead to the RCT opportunity.

Social Marketing & Health Promotion: designing a public health model

Social Marketing & Health Promotion: designing a public health model | Health promotion. Social marketing | Scoop.it
From the Abstract Book of the World Social Marketing Conference Toronto 2013 (ISBN 978-0-9576830-0-6)
"In literature, Social marketing has different classifications. Lefebvre (2011) distinguishes between Developed Countries, where the main goal is the behaviour change and Developing Countries where the focus is on products/services. Jeff French (2010) makes a distinction between the culture of social marketing in North America and that in the United Kingdom. We propose considering the differences in financing: in universal public health systems, paid largely from taxation, a priority setting which involves all the social actors is necessary, and the Public Sector is responsible for “Social Good”. Where the health system is based on social insurance, this determines what “Social Good” is. In addition to this organizational division between the individualistic model and the model of solidarity, the complexity that characterizes the contemporary world obliges us to consider additional factors, such as the type of choice with respect to the coverage (mandatory or voluntary) and the quantification of the cost for the citizen (linked to health risk, to income or fixed)

his paper draws on a review of the literature about the types of health promotion activities conducted by health promoting hospitals and an observation of how some Australian hospitals have structured the organizational arrangements to be more health promoting. This paper also draws on the experiences of one of the authors (A.J.) in managing and evaluating an organizational change process at a major specialist hospital in Adelaide, South Australia, that sought to re-orientate the hospital towards placing more emphasis on health promotion.

Can personal health data motivate behavioral change? It depends. | mobihealthnews

Can personal health data motivate behavioral change? It depends. | mobihealthnews | Health promotion. Social marketing | Scoop.it

One of the critical questions within the connected healthcare movement is whether or not personal health data will actually catalyze and then incentivize lasting behavioral change and better wellness. Will any kind of data serve to motivate behavioral change? Does it matter if we see our data on a smartphone versus a laptop screen? Do all people respond in the same way? Early on, we realized that our ability to transcend our customer base, from highly-engaged, “quantified self” early adopters to the mainstream world of the “frustrated sleepers”, would require far more than just the raw data itself. It turns out that the gift wrapping matters as much as the present inside.

Public health policy and the behavioural turn: The case of social marketing

Recent public health policy has emphasized the promotion of behavioural change and the achievement of healthy lifestyles as central to tackling deeply ingrained health inequalities in the UK and beyond. These approaches contrast with more upstream structural strategies that aim to address material determinants of health. A current exemplar of the behaviourist approach is the use of social marketing as a methodology in public health. Social marketing is posited as a strategy for creating ‘social good’ through importing the methods of commercial marketing into health and social policy in a range of settings, in this instance, public health.
